I am now going with the marriage cert as I think that is more reliable, and I may have got the wrong birth cert. I did take a look and there are quite a few - none with a father by the name of John, closest match had a father by the name of Thomas . There is also an Elizabeth A. Robinson with a father John, born 1869 though. Take a look at the familysearch site, it's nice and easy to use. Pen x
