Mary Ann, sometimes referred to as Annie died in 1896, leaving a son Herbert Chipperton. I found him on the 1901 census. Mary Ann's husband was Frederick Chipperton. he died in Melbourne in 1894 so they would not appear on the 1891 census. Siblings died: Samuel George d 1911 of gastric ulcer Alice d 1901 in Paddington of cancer Henry/Harry d 1941 Willesdon Edward d 1932 Arthur d1947 Mary Ann/Annie's parents: George Cooper b c 1824 St Mary's , Lambeth, London d 1878 a chairmaker Mary Jane b 1822 Newington, Surrey or Kennington d1910 married 1850 All Saint's Church Paddington Think that just about is everything that i have... What a mystery this is becoming! Thanks again Alison

Hi again this data was from another GR member, but i have not confirmed it yet so perhaps its dodgy?? Perhaps i need to go forward before going back. I have the marrige and death certificates for Mary Ann Cooper b1855 London, d 1897 Penge, lewisham. I believe her paretns to be George Cooper who died 13.10.1878 in St Mary's Lambeth and Mary Jane Cooper b 17.11.1822 Newington. Apparently they were first cousins who married after George's first wife died. George had a child called Matilda b 850 with his first wife (name unknown) then six more with Mary Jane: Mary Ann (Annie) in c1855 London Samuel George 9.2.1855 London Alice 1858 Knightbridge Henry (Harry) 3.11.1862 Knightsbridge Edward George 1864 Knightsbridge Arthur 12.1.1867 Marylebone Is it possible that you can find any information on this family on any census records? I appreciate your continued interest Alison

Alison Report 7 Feb 2007 20:11

Please can you look up the family of James Cooper b c 1803 in London and his wife Rebecca b c 1804 in St Mary's Lambeth on the 1841 and 1851 census records. James was a bedsteadmaker in 1850 when his son George married. More info that i know is the names of children: George Elanor b 1836 St Mary, Lambeth, London Edward James b St Mary, Lambeth, London John Thomas b St Mary, Lambeth, London Mary Ellen Cooper b 1826 St Mary, Lambeth, London Cecilia Martha b 1828 St Mary, Lambeth, London Unfortunately these people will probably have married or left home by 1851 - or perhaps not. George died in 1878 and married Mary in 1850 so you may be able to find an entry for them on the 1851. I appreciate your help Alison
