Thanks very much Debs. What an odd fellow! He married his ex-neighbours/employer's wife who was 10-15 years his senior, then when widowed he married again, and fathered 3 children when he was nearly 70! You couldn't make it up!

Hi Debs, I would be really grateful if you could find anything out about these people. Cornelius Kane born abt 1842 in Ireland, parents John Cain and Mararet McPake or McPeck.Cornelius married in Lanarkshire in 1872 so I'm hoping he'd be in Scotland by 1851 or 1861,he was sometimes known as Neil in later years,so may be down as Neil. Thanks, Wendy

Hello Debra, what a fantastic offer. I'm stuck trying to find my grandfathers dob & birth details. The only info I have is his marriage certificate William Herbert Hayman to Dorothy Edith Johnson on 1st June 1929 at Registry Office, St. Martins, London that made his dob 1886. William died when my dad was 6 so has no recall of father or siblings etc. William's father recorded on marriage certificate was William Edward Hayman (deceased). My dad grew up in Kent, Orpington. Any help greatly appreciated. Simon in Sydney.

Hi Debs, Please could you look up John and Mary Cundill in the 1871 census. Their son William was born in 1869 in York. Mary had a son John Hodgson in 1864, before marrying John Cundill but I think he would have been part of the family in 1871. The 1881 shows the family in York Many thanks, Frances

Hi Debra, Thanks for looking the ages of this family change every census they add years on one and take years off in the next was suprised to see James at 31 as he should be 1 year old roughly, confusing or what. Never mind at least it's better than nothing. Thanks again for your time, Merry Xmas and best wishes for 2007. Brenda.
