Thanks very much Jane- you've managed to find 4 generations of Coxells- George and Henry were brothers, and their parents were Charles and Henrietta.

Hi Jane, Just an update really on some of the certs I have had delivered Frederick James Lewis, born 17 Jul 1847 in Risca, Mons Son of William & Jane Lewis (So your first census possibility was right) Married 31 Dec 1866 in newport Reg Office to Emma Mary Young. Interestingly, he either put his aged as 22 and not 19/20 and I think that is because he didn't have his parents permission to marry (You needed to be 21 or have parents permission) but his Father is spot on i.e William Lewis (Coalminer). Interestingly, Emma Mary Young opted to leave her Father's Details BLANK on the form either because she knew it was John Terrell but didn't know enough about her real dad to add anything or she was hiding something . . . Frederick J Lewis died aged 21 years 2 months 14 days from Typhoid Fever (5 weeks) on 01 Oct 1868 So that at least answers the Lewis/Young chapter Interestingly, Mr Thatcher at Warminster Reg Office and left a voicemail for me to say that my vague certificate request of Emma Young 1843 O-D (a few years earlier than I would guess) Arabella Young 1848 A-J have come up as a matching pair with both having the father JOHN YOUNG working as a TAILOR. Of course, we are expecting their Father to be Joel Young but read on and you will understand my hestitation Now normally, I would chuck this to one side but later, Emma Mary Young/Terrell/Lewis marries a John Young (wink wink) and he says his father is JOHN YOUNG, TAILOR Now, I have a couple of possible matches in Wincanton distrtict that are being checked now, If they come up with Father Joel Young then I will toss these to a side but if they don't we may have our two girls Now, there is one thing that bothers me . . . In 1871, John Young and Mary Lewis get married in the three month window between Census/Birth of first child. She has her father as Joseph Lewis (Deceased) Farm Labourer and she is down as being 23 years old (That's probably a guess) Can you find a 1861 census where a Joseph Lewis, Farm Labourer has a daughter called Mary approx 12-15 years old. I just want to see if there could be another match to this marriage Mary I have checked the 1881 census and I can't see a John & Mary Young together with similar birth years so I swear we have the right one, I just dont know why she has Joseph Lewis as her Father Paul

Hi Jane, I need your help again I'm afraid . . I sent off for birth certificates for Arabella Young to both Warminster 1848 and Wincanton 1850 with a selection of possible Emma, Emma Mary and Mary Young births in that era. Warminster got back to me with a matching pair, Emma Young born 1841 (A year before the marriage of Joel Young & Emma Giles) and Arabella Young 1848 where their father is a JOHN Young, A Tailor. Now, I would of ruled this out but Warminster are dead sure they are sisters and later, John Young's marriage cert to Mary Lewis says his Father is John Young, A Tailor but then . . . Wincanton sent me a Birth Certificate for Arabella Young, 30th Jan 1850 Union Workshouse, Wincanton, Father Joel Young (A Tailor) Mother Emma Young, Formerlly Giles What I need you to do is look up an 1851 Census for John Young (A Tailor) With daughter Emma Young (9 or 10) Arabella Young (2 years old) I want to see if a second family exist, are there two Arabella's and one died before 1851 Thanks in advance Paul

BUT you'll never guess this................................................. Ann Ailes surname on the original is actually............ GILES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a theory now you know......... i think John & Joel Young are brothers, and now believe that Emma Giles and the above Mary A. are sisters, and John that married Emma was her cousin, not brother as we suspected !!!! hope i've not made it even worse for you !!! Hi, Do you think you could look up Charles Poulton and his wife Mary Ann Savery on the 1941 and 1961 census. On the 1971 census they are both down as aged 35 and born in Birmingham, Charles' occupation is a Retail Brewer. Any info to fill in the gaps would be much appreciated. Thanks Alison
