Hi Mary. I wonder if you could double check the 1900 USA census for me. Its for John Nelson born about 1868 in England living in Manhatton, New York, with his wife Mary and their children.I think the address is Watt Street. I have a copy but cannot make out the occupation. It could be Sea something or Tea something. The copy I have is quite small and it is hard to read. Also the 1910 census which I have a copy of, but the lady that sent it to me has left the occupation off. If I could find the occupation it might tie up with the 1900 one. Thank you very much,it would be much appreciated. Regards Marlene

Dear Mary, could you please help me with a U.S. look-up In the 1860 and 1870 census? I am searching for Anderson (Andy) Hill born Co. Tyrone Ireland c.1820. His wife would possibly be Sarah also from Tyrone. He died in Boston Massachusetts in the 1870's I believe. Thankyou for your help. Regards Carol

Margaret Report 19 Nov 2006 22:17

Hi Mary The name is sometimes mistranscribed as NERVEY The wife's name was Edith but doubt if she went to the USA. The woman on the immigration record found was Sarah and probably not his wife LOL Son, George Edward NEWEY was born in 1907 in Ilkley, Yorkshire. They went to USA in 1912 and returned possibly the same year. Alfred George NEWEY or George may have gone to USA previously as he can't be found on UK 1901 census. After 1912ish, no more is known about Alfred George. Cannot find his death anywhere. He left his son with foster parents in Ludlow, Shropshire and never returned. Mystery man!!! Margaret

Mary Report 19 Nov 2006 18:35

MARGARET IN BURTON ON TRENT I have had another look but nothing under George either. I will keep looking under different possible spellings. Could you tell me his wifes name and when he actually brought his son back to the UK. and where and where was the son born. Mary

Horatia Report 19 Nov 2006 16:35

RIDGE Family for Horatia Nelson Hi Mary you couldn't find George William Ridge but his wife was Sarah Maude Andersen and there is a Maude Ridge and a Sarah Ridge listed on my web search results on FTM for 1920 and 1930 US censuses. There is a Sarah M Ridge listed on 1930 (George William Ridge's wife?) and a Maud Ridge listed on the 1920 US census. Again, I wonder if this is George William Ridge's wife? Can I ask you to have a peep for me? She was born about 1890. Cheers, Horatia

Margaret Report 19 Nov 2006 16:35

Hi Mary Thank you for looking. Can you please check under George NEWEY born 1876 London. Occupation something to do with Show Business. He was known as George most of his life. Margaret

Horatia Report 19 Nov 2006 16:16

RIDGE Family For Horatia Nelson Hi Mary, John Ridge died 1943 in Nevada but there is an Amelia Ridge on the 1930 US Census. I think this is John's wife. I can see her on my web search results on FTM but of course the info is locked out to me because it is in the USA. If she was born about 1883 possibly in the UK this could be John's wife. Her maiden name was Amelia Sherwood and she died in 1961 in the USA and was buried in Utah. Cheers, Horatia

Horatia Report 19 Nov 2006 16:09

RIDGE Family PM on the way to you. I don't know Sarah Ann Ridge's married name - maybe she died without marrying? But Florence Ridge maried Heber Charles Hicks in 1913. I hope this helps. Cheers, Horatia

Mary Report 19 Nov 2006 15:44

HORATIA NELSON No Problem If you PM me with your E Mail Address I will forward what I have. which is so far not including the marriages Florence Ridge Immigration 1911 Alfred Ridge 1920 and 1930 also WW1 Draft Robert Junior 1920 and 1930 also WW1 draft John Ridge WW1 draft I could not find the daughters as yet but perhaps if you can let me know when they married I could look under married names for them Mary

RIDGE Family: Mary, Yes, only require 1920 & 1930 census info. I have marriage dates from LDS. I thought all the family went over in 1915; but now I think some went a little earlier so if you see any of them on the 1910 census, that would be good. I would like the WW1 Draft Cards info if you can supply it. Thank you for your help. If it's not too much trouble, could you send the census images if you can track them down please? Sorry about asking about so many people! I do appreciate your help. Cheers, Horatia

Mary Report 19 Nov 2006 15:28
