Well I have come across some where the birth registered as say Frederick Leonard but they marry or die as Leonard Frederick. Sometimes names were a bit interchangeable - especially where other people in the family share the same name - for instance Vic Reeves - real name Jim Moir - but his family call him Rod - as his dad was called Jim and so was his granddad! If you cant see a birth in that area for someone else with that name then you would probably be safe in assuming you've got the right man. Was he buried with a spouse that might confirm things? Alex

I have Leonard Frederick Hall b 30 Sept 1879 Louth Found some graves yesterday and one has been bugging me because it says Frederick Leonard Hall d12th dec 1950 aged 71 Thats got to be the same one surely. Is it a mistake or done deliberately. His father was also Leonard so maybe they called him Frederick rather than get the 2 mixed up...... any help on this one?
