Hi Ann Sorry to be a pain but I have been given some new information. Could you look for anything on Laurence/Lawerence Cowley Born Ireland and Bridget nee Gallagher. They had two sons James and Patrick but they were born after 1881. I have been told they could have been living around Edinburgh around 1881. Help please Going mad Thanks Best wishes Julie

Hello Anne, any chance you could look up the following family for me please in Glasgow 1881 census. In 1871 they were residing in Civil Parish Barony, St Mark, Glasgow, at 147 Stobcross Rd SCOTT James, abt 53yrs, bottle finisher/worker, born Bo'ness Linlithgow, West Lothian. SCOTT Mary, wife, abt 55years, born Glasgow Lanarkshire SCOTT, George, son, abt 15 years, born Glasgow Lanarkshire SCOTT Ann,daug, abt 18 years, born Glasgow, Lanarkshire. I am assuming that his older children SCOTT, James, son, abt 30years, born Glasgow, Lanarkshire SCOTT, Francis, son, abt 28 years, born Glasgow, Lanarkshire SCOTT,Elizabeth,dau,about 25years, born, Glasgow,Lanarkshire will no longer be living with parents. I am looking for George Palmer and his wife Janet (Cameron), who would have been about 40 years old in 1881 and living in the Grangemouth area with several children. thanks ann,im very confused now,ive got annies parents as being james findley(FARMER) and annie findley nee shand but the address is 236seatown. but looking at your census returns, annie age seven born 236 seatown has sister asabella age two,my g grandmother(daughter of annie findlay born c 1873)named her first daughte isabella,got this ancestry lark is so confusing.but thanks again for your search.xx

Yes Suzanne, It's the 1881 census for Scotland, it doesn't have any other dates on it. The Findlays I have are my husband's family, but I'm having great difficulty in trying to trace them. Anne
