Hi Jane, I am with you on your theory that Mary Railton is Elizabeth's sister. I have Julio's marriage certificate - on it he says he is a stationer and that his father was Julio Galliers(deceased) Merchant. :~} The marriage took place in St James Shoreditch and the witnesses were William Cleland and Louisa Caroline Toms. He lived at 26 Smith's Buildings. We have traced Mary Railton in the 1881 to Emma Grant her daughter. Also found her death in Lewisham aged 90. Hi Jane, When you reminded me about the death of an Elizabeth Galliers in 1867 I went and looked at that death cert. and re-dicovered the fact she was married!!!! So Galliers may or may not be her maiden name - maybe she was widowed not long after she was married or maybe her husband was in 'foreign parts' at the time!!! lol As you can see I'm a little confused too!!!! :~) So ANYTHING you can find on Louis (Lewis) Galliers would be brilliant!!!! I have Elizabeth Galliers death cert. and it she is the widow of Louis (Lewis) Galliers - China Dealer so if you could look for him in the 1841, 1851 & 1861 census I will be eternally grateful!!!! :~) He is not in the IGI, BIVRI or FreeBMD :~( When you have the time could you please see what you can find on Peter Raggala...
