Jane, That is great - and with J Harwood, son, being born c1840, adds to my theory that William Jr is not Eliza's son, since she didn't marry William Sr until 1849 when she was 21. I'm sure Eliza will show up somewhere. Any chance you can find William Harwood in 1841 with son J (?) That may give me the first wife's name and I can go from there. Many thanks. Margaret

Thanks for that Jane. The age for William seems to be consistant, except for that one hiccup later on. Now that I know his wife's name I can search further. Margaret

Hi Jane - thanks for the offer. I'm looking for an Elizabeth Waistell b in Liverpool c1848. If you could find her in 1851 and 61 that would be great. I got her marriage cert recently which told me her father's name was John but he was a mariner so may not be with the family. Any help much appreciated. Thanks Kate

Hi Jane, Thankyou for your help...yes its him.....David Eadie death 1899. I can't find a marriage either. I don't know where to start looking in Scotland.there are so many David Eadies up there. I think that he was born about 1833 or 1834. How on earth do you find out for sure? Im worried that I may be barking up the wrong tree and tag onto the wrong Great Grandad. I wish that they had put where in Scotland they lived. I think that I will have to ask someone to look up the David Eadies on the Scottish census for 1861/51/41, hopefully something will turn up. Thankyou again for the census names and infomation that you have looked up for me. .it really helps to clarify and confirm things.and once I am sure of the place in Scotland ,I can join Scotlands people to do a more thorough search. Hetty
