Hello Mary, I hope you can help me again. I am looking for Florrie Ratcliff in 1991 Census, she will be 18. In 1881 she was 8yrs, described as neice, and staying with a family of MARTIN at 45 Sussex Rd Islington, census said she was born Woolwich Kent, and I can find no connection of her with my Martins, could she have lived next door and come in to play with Harry that night ?? - I have searched Ratcliff also but cannot yet find a connection. Thank you so much for your time, Heather in Australia

Mary, Thanks for trying to find my little Florrie, esp for looking for birth which was going to be my next request. I will just have to sit her on the mantlepiece and wait until she or a shared surname pops up elsewhere. Have a nice week, Heather

Mary Report 20 Nov 2005 20:31

Hi Keeley I wish you luck with your search, with so little to go on it is a pretty big ask.You really need to find his birth which will be in Parish records somewhere. I had a look on 1851 census but could not find a Thomas Hayes b 1833 in Manchester also the chance of him still being with family at 18 are pretty remote. I think you need to ask for a lookup on the 1841 Lancashire census where he should be with his family. Trying to find someone with just a year of birth and a possible county, especially a county as populous as Lancshire is going to be very difficult. What is the earliest census info you have for him? Good luck Mary

Lindsey Report 20 Nov 2005 20:38

Hi Mary I am looking for William Revil (or Revill). He was born in approx. 1845 in Langwith, Nottighamshire and married to Sarah Ann Revil born in 1850. I have got him on the 1881 census but I know that he died before 1898 when his son William got married. I wondered if you could please find him on the 1861 or 1851 census which will give me his parents hopfully. Thanks very much for your offer of help. Lindsey

Mary Report 21 Nov 2005 15:17

Hi Lindsey That was a really difficult lookup.I could find nothing on either 51 or 61 by the usual search,so had to go to the actual census pages for Langwith and search page by page.Found them as Reavel but they were listed in the index as Beard!!!!!So not surpring I could not find them. Also found William on 61 by same method only this time he is Revell.Oh well that's genealogy for you. 1851 Langwith Hill,Langwith,Notts John Reavel Head 61 Widower Farm Labourer Elizabeth Reavel Daur 28 Charwoman Mary Reavel Grand daur 10 Scholar William Reavel Grandson 6 Scholar All born Langwith 1861Boon Hill,Langwith William Revell Servant 17 Carter Living in the household of Samuel Thompson Farmer of 144 acres. If you need more lookups ,give me a really, really difficult one. Regards Mary

Hi Mary Thank you very very much I would never have found that information. It looks as though William's parents were dead or his mother is Elizabeth and she was unmarried. I am sorry you had to go to so much trouble but thanks again. Lindsey

Hi Mary, You have been so helpful in the past, please can I ask you another request? :) Could you look up for me on 1851 and 1861 Census the following:- WILLIAM TINKLER born 1846 Deeping Fen Lincoln (info taken from 1871 Census) I would like to know his address and the members of his family at both 1861 and 1871. Sorry, but I have no other definite leads. One minor one could be that his father MAY BE.........THOMAS SNITHIN TINKLER and his mother JANE but I have no dates of birth for them. Please could you post the details here since I cannot receive any more ancestry images. Many thanks, Andy
