hello, I was wondering if you could tell me about the biological father of one William Henry Fettis born September 1917 in Blythe I think (not entirely sure that will be in the Durham records office however). His biological mother was a Rachel Moses, born 1887. He may not be under the surname Fettis however as that was his adoptive name taken from the man Rachel Moses later married. Any help you can give would be much appreciated, I just want to know who his real father is and I think it may be on his birth certificate. Many thanks, Katie Nicholls

Hello Maureen Thanks again for your generous offer. May I have some more help with the BULLERWELL's please? I would very much like to find the burial of my 4xGreat Grandfather Robert BULLERWELL and there is a death in the September quarter of 1858 on FreeBMD. I am not able to afford the certificate at this time and wonder if you could check the Ryton Holy Cross parish records please? These are the details from the DRO site: Type of Register - Start Date End Date - Indexed - Original Reference - Microfilm Reference Burials - January 1837 August 1874 - 513 (pt) - EP/Ryt 1/27 - M42/368 Robert would have been 88 years and living at Smeales/Smailes (Farm). Thank you very much. Kind regards and God bless you, Lynne x New Zealand

Thanks for that Maureen - the transcript will help, as the witnesses to one of the other marriages you found for me helped to confirm it was the right marriage, so this might be the case in this one too. Regards Kath. x

Maureen, I can't believe it. Thought I would have to wait until the 16th for this information - if then. Thank you so much. I don't know how you do it, but I'm so glad you do. It does sound like this is very likely to be the William and Jane I am looking for. I really appreciate your help. Thanks Kath. x

Hello Maureen, We Have desperately been trying to find the birth certificate of William Hutchinson born 1822 in Pelton. His father was definately William and almost certainly his mother was Sarah Whitfield. By the way if you are searching for the Vickers family tree, please contact me as I have lots of information on the Vickers dating from Joseph b. 25th April1713 down. Hi Maureen, You very kindly found two marriages for me in Hartlepool and Stockton, on your first visit to the record office from this thread. Could I please ask for another marriage look up. I have what I think might be the marriage reference (I know this isn't what you need for the record office):- WILLIAM LITTLEFAIR, June qtr. 1865, Durham, 10a, 420. His first son, John Littlefair was born c.1865 in Brancepeth according to census records, and next son in Thornley, so I'm hoping the marriage is around the Brancepeth area. His wife's name is JANE ??????? William's father's name should be Thomas. As I'm doing this for my brother-in-law, I can't afford to send for certificates as it takes me all my time to afford my own. It's Jane's surname that I'm looking for. Thanks in advance if you have time to look. Kath. x

Hi Maureen You ask how sure I am about John Reed and Margaret Bone's 19 December 1813 marriage taking place in St. Peter's Church Monkwearmouth - I have the information from the Monkwearmouth Registers indexed by George Bell. There seems to be no other church mentioned for this period. If you get a chance to check this church's records I would be grateful - put it down to genealogy intuition! Susan

Hi Linda What makes you think that they were married up here in Durham..?? Have you checked the St Catherine's House Index for the marriage.. or 1837 online This is a huge area and you cannot just punch in a name and get the results these are all manual searches of Church Records on Microfilm.. I could spend hours looking for them and not find anything.. I will need at least some sort of idea of a Registration District and a year and we could take it from there.. When did they leave Lincolnshire..?? Were they still in Lincolnshire in 1881 ?? I know I can work miracles sometimes but Gateshead; Felling; Heworth are all very large areas covering loads of churches..for this time Need some more info before I will look at this one Find the marriage year please Maureen
