This site tonight is doing me head in as I keep getting Happy Genes Error and I cannot honestly say I'm not Happy.. Lol ************************************************** Carla Gray Stoker // Stokoe what can I say This microfilm is really badly written and is not indexed either all the entries look like one another talk about a spider has crawled over the page..........Looks like a two year old has written it I have managed to get one........I was on with this film for nearly an hour.. Could do with seeing the the original register.. Richard Stoker 29th August 1860 of Downs lane Fathers occupation Pitman son of John and Elizabeth The burial book is the same Sorry Maureen

Jacqui Report 19 Oct 2005 23:11

Hi Maureen Yep thats why I thought the 1851 age was right rather than the 1861. I know you could marry at that age but she said she was overage. 15 year olds to day could probably pass for 21 but back then, in a small parish where the vicar probably knew her? I'm definitely going to have to get to Durham some time to sort this line out, but if you could check the details of the 1831 Margaret next week that would be great. Thanks again Jacqui

Maureen Thanks so much for taking the trouble to look for me, I hope you were successful in your own endeavors too! The only other Gateshead parish associated with this family is Felling, but that's more of a long shot than Heworth was! Cheers, Brenda

Hello Maureen Thanks so much for your time and effort. You must have been cursing me as you looked at the mumbo jumbo. It's disappointing that you only found one but that's better than none and I quite understand. You have made a lot of people very happy. Incredible effort. thanks again - Carla

Jacqui Report 23 Oct 2005 00:00

Hi again Maureen Glad to hear you had your own sucess as well as helping so many others. Re my Margaret Howe. I've been googling Auckland and am now wondering if she might have been baptised at St Helens (in 1821) rather than St Andrews as she gives pob as West Auckland on the census. If you get a chance to look next week that would be great. Thanks again Jacqui
