Carolyn, I'm struggling. He might be amongst those who have been missed off 1861. There's a big chunk of London missing.

Sorry Belle, I don't have 1841 for that area. There is someone on the boards with it though, so if you post a thread asking, someone will answer.

Hi Tracey weird isnt it why have your surname twice it wasnt like he was the 2nd William Ralston he was about the 4th oh well haaaaa. Stockport thats Cheshire yeh ?? doubt they are mine but you never know. I only found out Grt Grandads sister Emily Pratt married a Kilvert when i recieved an old newspaprer cutting from the Kenilworth Library Warks about Grt Grt Grandads fall outta bed. Hehad a coroners inquest into his death you see. Named his daughter Mrs Emiy Kilvert at the house that night BINGO i thourght gotta her married name now. This was 1910 Grt Grt Granpops died, dont know if she had any children but she would be 40 in 1910, so maybe if she had any they were earlier. The prob is my Grt Grandad left Kenilworth and came to Liverpool abt 1896, so he left his family behind, Eldest sister Mary Elizabeth Pratt m 1901 she was in her 30's to a Tew. Jane next eldest sister died aged 33, Walter George his brother was 30odd in 1901 and still at home dont know what happened to him, then theres Emily who married a Kilvert, then Edward Joseph who married an Ellen Bayliss he was a reg serj major and killed in 1917 WW1. I am hoping there may have been descendants of Grt Grandads siblings outhere, so i am trying anything. I was told Grt Grandad Arthur Henry Pratt had 4 children by my Grandad his son he infact had 7 that i know of. Arthur Edwin 1905, Edith & Albert twins 1907 death 1907, Emily 1912, Ethel 1914 death 1916, Walter (grandad)1916 and Stanley ? maybe 1918. Could you do me another look up from 1912 -1920 PRATT mother THOMPSON i doubt there will be anymore if there were they would have been between 1907 -1911 so no mums maiden name then, so i may never know. Thanks Tracey Colette

Hi Tracy, I'd love it if you could shed any light on these. Bertha Melinda Parr my g grandmother b 1854/58 . I can find her on 1881 (tho mistranscribed as Martha) with her parents Robert and Martha and daughter Laura Pauline (who was illegitimate and refused ever to talk about her early life to her sisters ,who she brought up after their mother died)) in Weston, Somerset On my grandmother's birth certificate Oct 1885 she is shown as Bertha Perry formerly Price. Husband William Perry. In 1891 she is in Bristol with her 3 other daughters Lillian, Beatrice and Ivy. She died in 1892. I can't find any record of her birth or Laura's, nor a marriage, and have no idea where Price came from. Thanks so much for your offer of help. Regards Nicky

Colette, the last one showing up in West Derby was Stanley, Dec 1917. Whoever told you about the 4 kids might not have included those who died. I would think that if Emily did have kids, they would have been in the 20 yrs before 1910. Have you got her in 1901?

Thanks Tracey yes i have Emily in 1901 single and working as a housemaid in Castle Green Kenilworth aged 30, this is why i was made up i found her married name Kilvert. Where the family were living in 1900 i have a page from a directory and there was an Alan Kilvert with same address Clifton Cottage so maybe he was renting one of the rooms in cottage, and this is how they met he was from Worcestershire and i believe had come to Kenilworth to stay with an uncle who lived in same road. full name Samuel Alan Kilvert, no marriage on Free BMD but will check again as its been a while since i looked. Talk about being a detective can you check for marriages ??? i mean cross referencing surnames. I would love to think that at least one of Grt Grandads siblings had children especialy Edward Joseph Pratt & Ellen Bayliss as he was killed in WW1 they married in 1904 you see. I keep looking on the genes names but never a match. According to the local newspaper in Kenilworth when Edward Joseph's death was reported they said he was a fine specimen of manhood and stood 6ft 2, isnt that lovely, carnt find him in 1901 i recon hes away with the royal warwickshire reg somewhere. Thanks for Stanley god love him he ended up with a nagging wife and moved to Gosport, another thing thats interesting is Stanleys son had spondelitus (disease of spine) my Grandad Walter his brother had a son who also had this and my 3 x Grt Grandads death cert in 1855 says death disease of spine, hes the father of Edwin who fell outta bed and died due to the bang on his head. Doesnt it all tie together. Sorry to go on and on haaaaaaaaaa. Anyway if you need help in Liverpool let me know. Colette
