Anne Thank you for the offer of look ups. I would be most grateful if you could find a family in Scotland’s 1881 census. They are: Peter Hannah 35ish, a farm servant and his wife Jane, 28ish. I have their marriage record of 1876 from Pennighame, Wigtown. One of their sons, my G grandfather was born 1886 Girthon, Kirkcudbright. So they could be in either area. I would be interested if you could find them listed with any other children in 1881. Thank you Pauline

Hi Anne, Wonder if you could look for 2 William Hainey. The first was born 1874 Glasgow. I think he will most likely be in a home or institute. The second is his father, I only know that in 1874 he was a boatyard labourer & lived in Govan. I suspect he will be in his 30s Sorry to be so vague , but I only recently discovered this information from an application for poor relief, and haven't got much further yet. Thanks in advance, Jim

Hello Anne, Thank you for looking. I am not sure it is him though as I cannot link him with any Brown grandparents. I have found his grandparents Thomas and Agnes Lockerbie and his mother Jane Lockerbie on the 1881 census in Penpont previously and he was not with them. I have found him in Glasgow on the 1891 census listed as a railway guard. Is this the only David Lockerbie listed as the one I want was born in Penpont? Thank you again. Anne
