Hi Andrea, I found James Kaye Sykes baptism on the IGI on the 9th May 1819 in Almondbury, child of Joshua and Edna. Also, someone has put on there he married a lady called Caroline Amelia in 1844. Checked freebmd for you, there is a James Kaye Sykes marriage to Caroline Amelia Shaver in the Mar Q of 1842 in Huddersfield, volume 22, Page 192. Caroline Amelia Sykes died in 1850 but there are 2 entries for on two different quarters that year. I am not sure which one is yours but i think its worth looking at because the address on the death cert might be where your James is in 1851. Regards Claire x

Hi Andrea, I am stuggling with the Frankland's i am afraid. With James Sykes, when did he marry his 2nd wife? I have got his first wife dying in 1850, would that mean he was on his own or could he have gone back to his parents in 1851? I cannot find lowerhouses on my disks at all and Almondbury is huge. Do you have any other sub districts at all? Thanks, Claire x
