Hello Dawn, Thank you for your last lookup and I now must confess that I got the wrong christian name for that one. I know I'm a pest but would you mind looking again with right name. A marriage for WILLIAM MACKIE & 'ELIZABETH' CRAWFORD about 1820 at Dalry, Ayrshire. Also children of that marriage please. Many thanks...Heather

Hi Dawn I am currently researching my wife's Scottish ancestry. Not done to badly with her mother's side but her father's side has drawn a blank. The details that we are aware of as follows. Robert Houston KERR born Feb 10, 1916 Burnfoot (Burnside)near New Cumnock, Ayrshire. Wife Helen McEwan born Mar 6, 1920 also in Burnfoot. Married 1937. We have the best part of Helen's next generation but can't find anything for Robert, so any info on him would be greatly appreciated. I find it hard to research Scottish rellies, they are all given perfectly good forenames but in life they get called something totally different. I have come across so many Jessies only to find there actual names are totally different. Ah well, I'm only a sassenach. Regards Norm

Hi Dawn, thanks for this: I think I have the marriage between Mary Baird Simpson and John L Thomson 31/12/1927. He was a bachelor aged 21 Motor Lorryman of Station Road, Bigger, Lanark and she was Domestic general servant aged 20 also of Bigger. I couldnt read the info too well, but I think it gave parents names as Robert Starke Thomson Lorryman and Eileen? Steele ?? and hers as John and Mary (nee Baird )Simpson.. with some other names mentioned too, but being unfamiliar with Scottish records, I wasnt really sure what I was looking at!!. If you could clarify any of this for me I would be very grateful, and it may help me to 'get into' his family. Thanks Ronnie OOPS sorry just realised the date is too late for your records, I will have to look at ScotlandPeople a bit closer. Take care... Ronnie

Hi Dawn and thank you for the offer. Hope you are feeling well :o) When you have a chance could you please have a look for the marriage of: Neil Innes (tailor) to an Agnes Colvin (or might be a Coburn). Likely between 1790-1810 (sorry can't be more specific). Not too sure where in Scotland - maybe the Argyl area - I know their son William was born there in Campbeltown in 1810. Thank you! Lisa

Hi Dawn.... nice to see you are back in circulation.. It was very kind of you to come back regarding James Dudgeon...and I do have James and Elizabeths family. Do'es the record show which church James and Elizabeth were married I note you say there appears to be no James Dudgeon bn or ch.abt 1679 in Fife. Is it possible he was bn in a neighbouring Scottish County. canny lad Mike

VERONICA OLIVER Hi Ronnie The records that I use are Scottish Church Records issued by Family Search (the Church of the Latter-day Saints). The same people that provide the free online search of the 1881 census. I know that you can buy records from them online but this is an old disc, 1995, so don't know if it's still available. If you'd like me to do some searches, then please feel free to just ask. I do have some people that keep coming back to me for more searches, which is fine. Hope that helps and look forward to hearing back from you soon. Dawn :-)
