There is another little mystery you may be able to solve. On 1881 census ther is a James GOLD described as grandson in one of the McKerrow households. Think he was aged around 10 at the time of census. Would be helpful to find which ones are his parents. Gloria

Hi Everyone Wanted to say a huge thanks to all of you for your best wishes for our up and coming wedding. Everything is more or less ready now. I picked up my son's suit at the weekend and Matthew's kilt is all arranged for him to pick up in Edinburgh the day before. I can't believe it's only a few weeks away now. I've got all my things sorted including my old, new, borrowed and blue. For my old, I'll be wearing my mum's pearl earrings that she wore when she got married and Matthew's Great Gran's pearl necklace that she wore when she married in Edinburgh in 1921. The castle where we are marrying is all sorted and so is the minister, so we've just got to wait for the day now. I'll try and get all the outstanding searches done before we go up to Scotland. Thanks again for all your lovely words and chat with you all when I return as Mrs Allen!!!! Dawn :-)

JANICE JAGGER Hi Janice I'm glad that your cousin found the info helpful. I couldn't find any children for John and Christina or John and Mary. I did find a marriage for John and Christina (parents). JOHN AULD married CHRISTINA GORDON, 30 Apr 1847, South Leith, Midlothian I couldn't find anything that might fit for John, that's if he was born in the South Leith area. This is a possible for Christian/Christina if she was born in that area. As well as a marriage for her parents and 6 possible siblings. Dawn :-) CHRISTIAN GORDON, ch 11 Feb 1821, South Leith, Midlothian, Father DAVID GORDON, Mother MARY HALL DAVID GORDON married MARY HALL, 5 Jun 1803, Clackmannan, Clackmannan MARY GORDON, ch 5 Aug 1804, Clackmannan, Clackmannan JOHN GORDON, ch 6 Feb 1807, Clackmannan, Clackmannan THOMAS GORDON, ch 29 May 1810, Clackmannan, Clackmannan DAVID GORDON, ch 7 Apr 1813, Clackmannan, Clackmannan THOMAS GORDON, ch 13 Mar 1816, South Leith, Midlothian CATHERINE GORDON, ch 29 Jun 1823, South Leith, Midlothian

JANICE JAGGER Hi again Janice Almost found their life story for you but not quite lol Hope your cousin finds this lot helpful. Dawn :-) I couldn't find anything on James, his parents or any possible siblings. I had better luck with Margaret's side. I couldn't find Margart but did find her parent's marriage and 4 siblings. PETER MATHEWSON married ELIZABETH DRYBURGH, 28 Dec 1830, Wemyss, Fife SOPHIA MATHEWSON, ch 25 Sep 1831, Wemyss JOHN MATHEWSON, ch 20 Oct 1833, Wemyss JAMES MATHEWSON, ch 18 Sep 1836, Wemyss ARCHIBALD DRYBURGH MATHEWSON, ch 31 Mar 1839, Wemyss Then found a possible for Peter, if he was from Wemyss originally, his parent's marriage and 4 siblings. JOHN MATHISON married MARGARET SIMPSON, 4 Mar 1803, Wemyss WILLIAM MATHISON, ch 22 Dec 1803, Wemyss ALLISON MATHISON, ch 2 Jul 1806, Wemyss PETER MATHISON, ch 19 Jul 1808, Wemyss BETTY MATHEWSON, ch 29 Nov 1810, Wemyss JAMES MATHEWSON, ch 7 Aug 1812, Wemyss Then found 2 possibles for Elizabeth, if she was from Wemyss originally, plus parent's marriage and siblings. THOMAS DRYBURGH married ELIZABETH HUTTON, 29 Oct 1785, Wemyss CATHERINE DRYBURGH, ch 24 Apr 1791, Wemyss JANET DRYBURGH, ch 30 Jun 1793, Wemyss JOHN DRYBURGH, ch 14 Jun 1795, Wemyss WALTER DRYBURGH, ch 14 May 1797, Wemyss AGNES DRYBROUGH, ch 24 Mar 1799, Wemyss ARCHIBALD DRYBROUGH, ch 6 Mar 1802, Wemyss ?ELAZABETH DRYBROUGH, ch 3 Feb 1805, Wemyss The other possible is JOHN DRYBURGH married SOPHIA BENNET, 24 Jun 1802, Wemyss ARCHIBALD DRYBROUGH, ch 31 May 1803, Wemyss JAMES DRYBROUGH, ch 31 Mar 1805, Wemyss ELIZABETH DRYBURGH, ch 29 Jul 1807, Wemyss JEAN DRYBROUGH, ch 5 Aug 1809, Wemyss I think that Thomas and John are probably brothers or cousins, as the same names keep repeating through both families. As for which is your Elizabeth (marrying Peter), I'd go with the second one mainly because they liked to name children after previous generations and she had children called Sophia, James and Archibald and her mum was Sophia and brothers James and Archibald. But that's just a guess on my part. Told you I almost found their life story lol Dawn:-)
