JONATHON Just a thought as the johnathon was on another page of the same ship, maybe it wasnt him. Maybe wife and children travelled at a later date and he went earlier. it was quite common in those days for the male to travel and find work etc and then send for the family. I will try another search, but couldnt see anyone with that name born Yorkshire Mary

Mary the last census 1871 I found him in was Auchterderran , fife He was working on a farm . Haven't found any marriage went on scotlands people costing a fortune on the hit and miss game Thanks donna

DONNA Hi Just one more question, do you happen to know his parents names. on the previous census records I assume you have him on the 1861 it helps narrow it down especially if he married as is scottish tradition (being scots myself ) most of the names were passed down ie. son called after grandfather daughter called after grandmother etc. any help could narrow it down Mary dont worry we are all still new and still ask help from others

Thank you for your kind offer Mary, I am trying to find my great uncle Frank Briscoe he was born 1903 in salford served in the army then emigrated to Canada Saskatchewan dont know if he married had children or when he died, any help would be most appreciated Jackie

Hello Mary, Thanks for the offer. I am looking for John Gwilliam born cc1853 St Ishmaels, Pembrokeshire. Believe he went to America about 1872, could be New York. Have found out he changed his surname later to - McGullam and married Bridget Coyle. Any info appreciated. Thanks Karen.

hi Mary dont know if you can help me as i dont know when the census,s were in Canada but i wonder if you could look anyway for me the person in question is called William Buckland born c1884 Cheltenham/Charlton Kings Gloucestershire we believe he emigrated in early 1900,s(but definately after 1901 census as i have found him then) returning we again believe to serve with the Canadians in France in the first World War.
