Thanks Sally, I can positively identify all the first family but I don't know about the others. Maybe it was just two families living in the same house. Michael

Hello Sally, You wanted details of the Ball family you have all ready got for me, they are as follows:- 1891 Abraham Ball 24 Steelworker Elizabeth wife 24 plus their family 1881 John Ball 1827 Shrops Amelia wife 1829 Wolverhampton plus their family 1871 John Ball 1827 Staffrith, Srops Amelia wife 1828 Wolverhampton plus family. What I would be grateful for is if you could find 1861/51 because shropshire county council say there is no such name as STAFFRITH in shropshire, and I am wondering if it is a miss print. If this is asking to much I understand, and thank you for all you have done for me. Kind regards, Margaret.

Hi Sally, Could you do me a favour and look up Edward Hodgkinson Webster born c1860 in Crewe, Chester. I'm trying to find his parents names. In the 1901 census, when he was married with children, he just called himself Edward Webster, so I don't know if this will be the case with his parents? Kind Regards Trisha

Thanks for your offer of help with 61 Wales census Sally. I am searching for one of my brick walls, Alice Jane Davies, born about 1859, Landshippen, Pembrokeshire (according to 1881 Wales census). Father was John Davies, described as a Carter on her marriage cert, (she married in 1880). Apparently Landshippen came in the parish of Martletwy which is/was in the district of Narbeth which is/was also divided between Haverfordwest & Carmarthen districts. Thanks Wendy

Hi Sally, Thankyou so much for that, I'm sure thats them. Thanks for finding the marriage, finding maiden names opens up a whole new branch. Kind Regards Trisha

Wendy Report 16 Aug 2005 12:00

Thanks for looking Sally, My Alice Jane Davies was born Landshippen, Pembrokeshire abt 1859, her father was John Davies (a carter in 1880). I looked on a map and found Walton West (the birthplace of the Alice Davies you found details of in 61 census) to be on the other side of the county. The birthdates, and father's names match, but the whereabouts of my Alice Jane have remained undiscovered I think. Thanks again, Wendy
