Could you find the birth of either Richard Middleton believed to be born 1871 or his brother Frederick Middleton believed to born 1867 both born Preston Suffolk. I need either of them as i want to get the birth certificate to find out the true name of the mother. On the 1901 census its says her name is Kleigtia i have never heard of this name and can not find the marriage for her and Harvey middleton anywhere so i am thinking maybe this isnt actually her really given name. Thank you for any help Mandy

Dawn Report 19 May 2005 21:28

hi mary I wonder if you can help me. I'm trying to trace my husbands family tree and have come up against a brick wall. I have a copy of a marriage certificate for my husbands grandfather Bristol Thirteenth january 1920 William Charles Dean age 32, (which makes his birth year 1868) Bachelor married Daisy Gertrude Horwood 19, Spinster. Williams father is listed as Charles Edward Dean and Daisy's father is listed as Charles Joseph Horwood. The problem now starts as I have a copy of my husbands fathers birth certificate which states that charles Edward Dean was born on Bristol, twenty fourth September 1920, his mothers surname and maiden name is shown as Daisy Gertrude Dean, Formerly Horwood, which matches the marriage certificate, but the fathers name is shown as Charles Edward Dean. We can only assume that William decided to call himself Charles!!! But now I'm lost and wonder if you can see if you can look up any William Charles deans with a father of Charles Edward Dean I presume they came from the Bristol area. William may have been calling himself Charles from a very early age so it may well be Charles Edward dean with a son of Charles Edward Dean. Sorry for the long message - Hope you can help. Thanks DAWN
