Thanks Steve, That's definately John, Alice Ada Brown was one of the names I had, a big thankyou for that. As for Margaret when I put her details in the bmd the only other name on the page was Carr Robson, so Idon't know what to think on that one. You're a saint Steve, thanks Paula.

Hi Steve sorry its me again. Is there any chance you can find any info on the following 2 people i am having a hard time with them. Reginald Charles Taylor born anytime between 1895 - 1916 married Daisy May Humphreys born around the same time not sure where they were born we think it was Essex but there is someone saying Reginald may have been born in Ipswich so either of those. They went on to live in Earls Colne Essex so this could be where they got married althought they probably got married after 1911 so you wont find their marriage but birth dates and place would be great to know. It is my grandfathers side of the family and he passed away in 91 so there isnt anyone to get info from as he lost touch with his 2 brothers when they were all put into a home. If you could find anything i would be most grateful. I found in the 1901 census a Daisy born 1899 in Tendring Essex but not sure if this is her. I look forward to hearing from you thanks so much

Hi Stephen Hope this reaches your thread today. I have tried to find the following on Freebdm but no luck. I have trawled 1859/60/61 but unless I have overlooked him then he is not recorded during that period. Freebdm for 1858 only covers September qtr, P/Z, so can't search there, so if you have access to BDMs other than Freebdm, could you look for the following particularly in 1858: Arthur DEE, born Lambeth, Surrey, aged 2 in the 1861 cen., living/visiting with grandad Dennis DUGGAN and family at 9 West Lane, Rotherhithe, Surrey. I have been told that he and Dennis Duggan are not on the 1871 census, whether a further check would show otherwise is anybody's guess. Arthur is still living with grandad in the 1881 census at 48 Marigold St., Bermondsey, Surrey. I'm want to get a birth cert. for Arthur so really hope that you can turn him up. Regards Rita

Claire Yes, the Daisy I found was the same one you had found. As for Aubrey, I can find only one Aubrey Ambrose on the 1891 census. Obviously the year of birth is an estimation based on age and since Aubrey was born after the census date, then they would underestimate. Name Estimated Birth Year Birthplace Relationship to head-of-house Civil parish County View Image Ambrose, Aubrey abt 1883 Leeds, Kent Son Sevenoaks Kent Ambrose, Cora abt 1889 Hollingbourne, Kent Daughter Sevenoaks Kent Ambrose, Ela abt 1885 Leeds, Kent Daughter Sevenoaks Kent Ambrose, Ethel abt 1887 Leeds, Kent Daughter Sevenoaks Kent Ambrose, Frank abt 1880 Leeds, Kent Son Sevenoaks Kent Ambrose, Lillian abt 1879 Leeds, Kent Daughter Sevenoaks Kent Ambrose, Susan abt 1846 Elham, Kent Wife Sevenoaks Kent Ambrose, William abt 1843 Harriestham, Kent Head Sevenoaks Kent Cheers Steve

Hi Steve Thanxs for that. What is the address please? Any idea why Samuel and Ann had different surnames in 1881 census than 1871 census, In 1881 it said Step son and step daughter both surnames Wright. Yet in your 1871 census they are Evans's. Thanxs again lesley :~)

Stephen Report 19 May 2005 14:34

Lesley in 1871 the Evans' were living in Grindleys Green, Wrenbury, Cheshire. It's not the first time I've seen children alternate from son/sau to stepson/stepdau and their surname tends to change accordingly. I think a lot depends on who gave the information on the census form at the time, nothing more interesting nor sinister than that. Cheers Steve
