I wonder if anyone can help at all, or point me in the right direction. I have my father in laws birth certificate. He was born in Glasgow 1936 at 63 Possil Road, which I now know was Oaklands Hospital. His father is listed as Robert Henderson McCallum of 39 Burn Bank Gardens, employed as an aircraftsman in the Royal Air Force. His mother is listed as Martha Moir McPherson Gillan, and Stenhousemuir is also written on it. I know his mother was married previously, and had a child called Edward who was killed in action in WW2, but there is doubt as to what name he was serving under so I haven’t been able to find his details on CWGC although I know he is buried in a war grave as my father in law visited it a few years back, but he thinks his name was listed as McCallum. I have searched and searched on Scotlands people but have come to the following conclusions, all marriages must have occurred after 1929, all births must have occurred after 1904 and all deaths after 1954. My father in law isn’t really helpful as his memory isn’t too good at all and he hadn’t even known his mother had been married previously. Any help as to how I proceed would be really helpful, it’s not really possible for me to visit Glasgow at the moment. |

Hello Denise Does your father in laws birth Certificate not tell you when and where his parent married ? Scottish certificates usually do jamie (also looking for MacCallums) |
