Hi Sarah Thanks for the offer. Could you please look in the 1861 census for a Frank Joy age 11 b. Surrey and John Robert Taylor age 3 b. Kent. They should be with their mother Elizabeth Taylor b. Devon -I presume. Maybe the boys are not together. Also in 1861 Isaac and wife Sophia Bennett both age 35 of Bristol and in 1871 Isaac, Sophia and son Isaac age c1yr of Bristol. Thanks Zena

Sarah, I would like to take you up on your offer please? Can you look up the family of Walter Masters (born 1816) in the 1861 & 71 census. He was born in Clerkenwell, Middlesex and is listed as living in Bermondsey London in the 1881 census. His wife was called Emma (born 1838), but don't know what her maiden name was so any help here would be good too if you can track marriage certificates? Many thanks Russell

Thanks so much Sarah. How did you deduce Melissa Ann Pratt from Misalant A Ratt? Brilliant Holmes! It's no wonder no one can find anyone. Kay.

Hello Sarah, 1871 Census Surrey When you have time I would appreciate a look-up for the following people please. Francis J. WORTH (52) - b: Newington SRY, Ham & Tongue Dealer Elizabeth (wife) 55 - b: 1816 Malvern WORC address on 1881 was 10 Denmark Hill, Lambeth SRY also trying to locate Lucy Piper MORRIS (19) - b: 1852, Bermondsey SRY Robert F.F. MORRIS (son) - b: 1867 Brixton SRY they are shown on `81 Census as living with Francis & Eliz WORTH as above - Lucy is described as married dau. It just doesn`t 'fit' - if Lucy`s age is correct on `81 Census, then she would only have been 15 when son Robert was born. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Sherryl in NZ

KAY I would need more information to go on - what did you want me to look at? I started at the 1861 census - there are 9 John Fisher's born in Lancashire (none in Capton) around 1841, but there is no way to narrow these down without additional details: John Fisher abt 1842 Cuxton, Lancashire, England Servant Clayton le Woods Lancashire John Fisher abt 1841 Poulton, Lancashire, England Servant Marton Lancashire John Fisher abt 1841 Preston, Lancashire, England Son Preston Lancashire John Fisher abt 1841 Preston, Lancashire, England Son Preston Lancashire John Fisher abt 1841 Preston, Lancashire, England Son Preston Lancashire John Fisher abt 1841 Boliton, Lancashire, England Lodger Rainford Lancashire John Fisher abt 1842 Roxton, Lancashire, England Son Warrington Lancashire John Fisher abt 1840 Whitley, Lancashire, England Son Lower Whitley Yorkshire John William Fisher abt 1840 Manchester, Lancashire, England Son Broughton Lancashire If any of these look likely, let me know and I'll see what else the census details say

TREVOR nothing I'm afraid - Ancestry only has very limited Irish records, no census information and really only very early marriage details - sorry

DAWN in 1891 I found this: Horwich End, Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire: Horobin, Sarah abt 1836 Chapel En Le Frith, Derbyshire Mother Fernilee Derbyshire Leah, Lettuce abt 1816 Mellor, Derbyshire Boarder Fernilee Derbyshire Higginbottom, Martha Eliza abt 1876 Laxall, Cheshire Daughter Fernilee Derbyshire Martha is transcribed as Higginbottom, but on the image she is definitely Horobin (there is another family on the page called Higginbottom, so that will be where the mistake was made) Sarah is listed as a widow - there is no sign of William so am I right in thinking he was her father? Found this in 1901 (same address) - looks like Sarah remarried and Martha took the new surname: John Hulme abt 1830 Abney, Derbyshire, England Head Fernilee Derbyshire Martha Hulme abt 1876 Taxal, Cheshire, England Daughter Fernilee Derbyshire Sarah Hulme abt 1835 Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire, England Wife Fernilee Derbyshire Mary Wheatley abt 1851 Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire, England Boarder Fernilee Derbyshire
