LESLEY firstly, I checked the 1871 image and Hannah is actually listed as 'Daur' not aunt, so it is the same person, just been mistranscribed. As for the 1891, I couldn't find anything specific to the details, but I did a search for all Ann/Anne/Annie and Hannah's with Doddington as a keyword, and the birth year 1868 +/- 1 yr. This is what it came up with: Bellamy, Annie abt 1868 Dry Doddington, Lincolnshire Daughter Doddington Lincolnshire Boden, Annie A abt 1867 Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire / Salop Daughter Cleobury Mortimer Shropshire Bridget, Annie abt 1868 Doddington Boarder Limehouse London Butcher, Mary Ann abt 1869 Ramsey, Huntingdonshire Servant Doddington Cambridgeshire Dixon, Jane Ann abt 1869 Norham, Northumberland Head Nesbit Northumberland Dring, Sarah Ann abt 1867 Doddington, Lincolnshire Wife Long Bennington Lincolnshire Ghoakes, Annie abt 1869 Doddington, Cambridgeshire Wife Ramsey Huntingdonshire Grice, Eliza Ann abt 1868 Doddington, Lincolnshire Wife Marston Lincolnshire Hinson, Annie abt 1869 Wooler, Northumberland Wife Doddington Northumberland Hopkinson, Annie abt 1868 Doddington, Lincolnshire Daughter Doddington Lincolnshire Neal, Sarah Ann abt 1869 Doddington, Northants Wife Wellingborough Northamptonshire Pattie, Anne abt 1869 Ford, Northumberland Daughter-in-law Doddington Northumberland Raines, Annie abt 1867 Doddington, Kent Daughter Faversham Kent Skipp, Annie Elizabeth abt 1869 Manea, Cambridgeshire Wife Doddington Cambridgeshire Thompson, Ann abt 1867 Ford, Northumberland Daughter Nesbit Northumberland Tudson, Annie M abt 1868 Doddington, Lincolnshire Servant Standard Hill Nottinghamshire Curtiss, Hannah abt 1868 Swinsthorpe, Lincolnshire Daughter Doddington Lincolnshire Fovargue, Hannah abt 1869 Doddington, Cambridgeshire Daughter Doddington Cambridgeshire Heaps, Hannah abt 1868 Ely, Cambridgeshire Wife Doddington Cambridgeshire Miller, Hannah Luisa abt 1869 Doddington, Cambridgeshire Daughter Edingley Nottinghamshire Whillis, Hannah abt 1868 Belford, Northumberland Daughter Doddington Northumberland There was nothing for Fox with the keyword Doddington. I also had a quick look at the 1901 image - it looks like the name is Anne E or Annie, very difficult to read! If you want me to look into any of the above names let me know. Sarah

Sarah Report 29 Apr 2005 17:01

LESLEY are these details quoted from a transcription, or have you seen the actual copy of the census book? It is very possible they are the same person, especially if she was known by a derivative and the person completing the census wasn't totally sure of her full name. I know I have one woman in my tree who has been known as Fanny, Frances, Tamsy, Tamzzyn and Thomasine depending which source I check...but it's definitely the same person! I'll have a look at the census images, see if I can see anything that helps Sarah

Hi Sarah I wonder could you try and work out a problem I am having. My Gr.Grandfather Albert James Owen b:1862 married Hannah ????? I found a marriage for Albert and Hannah Fox in salford 1898. Which seems very possibly the right people because the year is about right because first child born 1899. I then did a search for Hannah Fox birth on census, I looked on 1871 census. Found Hannah Fox as AUNT b:1869 Condover Shropshire living with Head: William Fox b;1837 Wife: Sarah b:1840 Son: Edwin b:1862. I then went on Ancestry for basic search as Im not registered I found 1881 census. Head: William Fox b: about 1836 Wife: Sarah b: about 1840 2 sons and 4 daughters ......one is HARRIET Fox b:about 1869 Condover.Shropshire.........the same as HANNAH stated as AUNT on 1871 census. Can this be the same person? Hope you understand what I have put??? lol I get very muddled up with all names and dates lol If you dont understand just say and will try and explain any mis-understandings. Many Thanxs Lesley :~)
