Sheila Report 19 Feb 2005 05:36

Gloria, sorry but 1901 census for Wales is not on Ancestry, only 71/81/91

Sheila Report 19 Feb 2005 05:42

Elaine, cannot find him on 1881, or Rosa on 1901. Could she have remarried?

Sheila Report 19 Feb 2005 05:51

Jackie...1871 census, living 3 Little Bath St, Clerkenwell, London THOMAS WOOD 68 head, grocer, b. Qanbery, Surrey HARRIETT WOOD 66 wife, b. Newbury, Birks LOISA FRENCH 11 gdtr, scholar,b. St Pancras, Middlesex With those transcription errors it is no wonder we get confused!

Sheila Report 19 Feb 2005 05:59

Denise, I cannot find his birth. The 1871 census has 2 Williams, both born in Penn. First is 40 lodging in Cookham, the second living with his family in Penn. Any more clues?

Elaine Report 19 Feb 2005 11:30

Thanks for trying Sheila, yes its poss she could have remarried but i suspect that she changed her name to plain Rose or something similar. As for worthy he was probably mis - transcribed ( was hoping Ancestry 1881 would be easier to spot him than LDS 1881). Thanks again, Elaine x.

Hi Shelia Thanks for the offer Looking for Eliza RETALLIC b1822 Cornwall (Illogen?) and was living in Dowlais Glam between 1860 and 1891 then I have her in Workington. She was also known as RICHARDS married to a Thomas Richards who died i think in the 1860's so I'm not sure if she reverted to her maiden name or remarried be she died a Retallic. Had daughter Eliza Richards who married Evan Davies in Dowlais in 1868.(I know all about them) Retallic is a mystery??? Many thanks Brian in Lancs
