Carol, I have searched all through the 1891/1901 census for Henry George Nicholson with a father Thomas to no avail, I am really sorry. It could be it was spelt slightly differently but, there are 100's. The only suggestion's I can think of off hand is maybe finding Thomas death cert or maybe putting message on board for someone who lives in bedfordshire to find out more about Henry and edith. I do wish I could help more. Sally.

Hi ! Thanks for the offer . Is it possible to trace a Fred Janes and his family. He was born circa 1863 in princes Risboro Bucks . His father was jesse and his mother Rebecca born 1834 . I dont know her maiden name. In 1881 they were living at Brook Street Wycombe Buckinghamshire.I dont know when his parents were married but then I have turned up two Jesse Janes from roughly the same area with birth dates1834/1835.

Hello Sally, Could you possibly do me an 1891 look up? It is for a Thomas Rowles he would be around the age of 4 years old in 1891 or possibly 6 years old! He would not be living with his parents as he was an 'illigitimate child' the father at the moment is unknown!! and i know that his mother is Sarah Rowles and i have found her in the 1891 census, living with her family in Manchester but there is no sign of thomas in the household!! which is why i said he would not be living with his parents!! i desperatly want to locate his whereabouts in 1891 and i hope you can help with this? We found him on the 'Soldier who died in the great war' cd and it said he was born in Manchester, but i'm wondering if he really was as i cant find a birth for him being born in manchester! because in the 1901 census he is aged 14, which means he would have been born around 1887, but can only find one birth in manchester area (chorlton) for 1885 which should make him 16 in 1901!!!! Also i know that sarah was 'thrown' out by her father because of her pregnancy! and no father around! Hope you can help with finding him somewhere on the 1891 census!! Hope i have made sense with my explanation of him above??!! Alison

Hello Sally Just wondered if you could try and find John Perry and wife Elizabeth (b 1821, Wellington, Shropshire). They would at least have a daughter Susannah b 1850/1 and one called Elizabeth b 1860/1, (both children b Dudley, Worcs). I guess that they would be living in Dudley area in 1851/1871 Census. Elizabeth was a widow in 1881. Many thanks for you troubles. Jo

Thanks for that, but I already have that data on Ruscombe from earlier and later census and family records - I'm trying to find his 1871 entry as I think it will show children, who have either died or left the family home by 1881.

Hi Sally, I can see there is only 10% of the 1851 census you have but maybe there is a chance for me. I would be very grateful if you could look to see if there is a Samuel Hammett born in Barnstaple Devon in 1934. He was my great great grandfather and i am trying to find out his exact birth date and his parents names and if he had any brothers or sisters. I understand it is long shot but your help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Jackie
