I will do my best, but they are not indexed so I need an address or small village, sorry but I'm not prepared to do blanket searches, eg "Smith in Sunderland". If you know the area, that would help. Give what info you can please, and bear in mind that a lot of 1841 is almost illegible. Linda

Hiya Linda,I just tried to send you an email, but i got disconnected and i dont know if you received it so ill post it on here: Could you look up an address on 1841 census please? Russell Street Sunderland (i dont have a number unfortunately) Im hoping one half of the following couple were living there as they married in 1846 and both gave Russell St as their address Henry Macbeth(b1821) and Elizabeth Stafford(b circa 1828) Also if you have time, could you look up the following address on 1851 or 1861 census, 10 Liddle Street Sunderland (The name again is Macbeth) Thanks in advance Anna

Hi there Could you possibly look up Francis SMALL in 1841/61/71? He will be found either in South Shields, probably St Hilda's parish or Westoe. At some point there probably will be at least two of them, one married to Margaret and one to Ellen. Even one look up will help. Thanks. Jan

Hi,Linda, Do you think you could check the name Appleby on the 41 pse The place name is Brompton but I'm not 100 per cent if it is North Yorks or not.I have my branch on 41----71 but it's the parents of Charles I'm after and he was born in Brompton. Thanks in advance, Cheerio Joyce

Sorry, Jan - there is just too much to look through, even then, St Hilda's district of Westoe covered a lot of pages! I've looked through 1871 without locating them, half of 1841 - I need it narrowed down a bit for me to continue. Sorry Linda

Jan

Jan Report 24 Jun 2004 16:13

Linda thanks for your trouble! The information I've got from censuses suggests they moved fairly often! One Francis was at Pan Bank Westoe another at Cornwallis Square in 1881 - if that doesn't help, I'll have to do some further digging this summer. I've promised myself a trip up north! Thanks again for looking. Jan
