Hi Lynda Would you be able to see if you could find John Price aged 21 when he married in June 1845, his father Edward Price residence at the time of marriage Eighton Banks, however I believe he was born in Corbridge Northumberland. He married Mary Robson and I would also be very grateful to see if you could find her with her family in 1841, her father was John Robson again residence Eighton banks, however marriage took place in Lamesley I hope I have provided you with enough info and thankyou for your offer of help Liz

Hello Linda Many thanks for your most kind offer. Could you have a look at:- Tottenham, Coundon, Bishop Auckland [this was only three rows of houses] for FISHWICK and BERRY - all coal miners. I have them from the 1861/71 Census so could you look at 1841 and 1851 please. Kind regards Judith Kettlewell

Judith, Tottenham is not attached to Coundon in either census (although it should be). Have looked for it in St Andrew Auckland area, any idea where else it may be attached to? Linda

Hello again Linda. I wondered if it would be possible for you to do another lookup for me.I dont know how big the area was in those days though,so if there are too many pages to look through, dont bother. Its on 1871 and the area is Jarrow I got a marriage cert this morning dated July 1871.The names on it are Stephen Rice and Annie Campion. They were married at St Bedes Roman Catholic Church in JARROW. Unfortunately, theres no address,it just says Jarrow for their places of residence Thanks in advance Anna

Linda I don't know if you missed my earlier request or if Darlington isn't on the Durham census - if you have answered, my apologies but I have missed the answer. Could I please bother you for another look up if possible? William Willey, possibly married to Margaret in Crawleyside, Stanhope or Stanhope Town in 1851. Many thanks Andrea

Linda Report 1 Jul 2004 17:04

Andrea, sorry I was sure I had replied to your request for Darlington, that area is just too large to trawl through, can you narrow it down a bit? Will have a look for your others as soon as I can Linda

Linda Report 1 Jul 2004 17:45

Andrea - sorry, sometimes I think it would be good if my brain was connected to my fingers when I type - I should have said that I was unable to find a Hume Street, so do you know where it could be near to? (If you got the address from 1881 LDS disks, I have found mis-spellings on a number of addresses- you might want to check neighbours for nearby streets) Better news though for 1851 census: 107/2388 St Johns Chapel folio 14 William Willey head m 35 Inn keeper DUR Whickham Margaret Willey wife m 31 YKS Thirsk Margaret Rose neice u 6 YKS Thirsk Jonathan Hart servant u 34 stable groom YKS Stockley Mary Davison servant u 33 maid servant CUL Alston Mary Forster servant u 20 maid servant DUR Stanhope Thomas Brisco visitor m 30 labourer NBL Whittonstall Linda
