Maggie Report 7 Jul 2004 16:58

Hi Rick, could you look up 57 Adam Street and also Church Street both in Rotherhithe. I'm looking for Faldo Family. Thanks Mggie

Rick Report 11 Jul 2004 15:36

Maggie, Can't find a Church Street listed for Rotherhithe. There's an Adam Street, but no sign of any Faldos. Rick.

Rick Report 11 Jul 2004 15:37

Sandra, The family at 7 Sydney Terrace was called Edmunds. Manor Street does not appear in the index for Chelsea. Rick.

Rick Report 11 Jul 2004 15:37

Gina, There's no Coldbath Street in the index. Sorry, Rick.

Michaela Report 11 Jul 2004 15:48

Hi Rick, Could you try 1 Hay Street, Haggerston(e) please. Am looking for Charles and Caroline Grace and their daughter Sarah. VMT Michaela

McDitzy Report 12 Jul 2004 12:37

Rick, Is Lambeth included on the 1841? If so, could you please look up Bolwell Street, Lambeth? Looking for the BYERS family. Preferrably George BYERS aged 5ish. Mother was Ann BYERS, possibly LEVITT at the time. They were living here in 1851, so I'm hoping that they don't like to move about a lot! Thanks! Chloe

Lucette Report 12 Jul 2004 13:23

Rick Could you possibly check whether the St Giles area/St Martins in the Field is clear on the 1841 census? (Possibly Holborn) And could you also advise whether searching an area (don't have an address) is going to be a long hard slog? I am tempted to splash out on the cd, but won't if it'll take me ages to just find a blur!! Thanks v much Lucette

Rick Report 12 Jul 2004 19:18

Michaela, Sorry, but no sign of your Graces in Hay Street. Rick.

Rick Report 12 Jul 2004 19:19

Chloe, Yes is does cover Lambeth, but I can't find Byers or Levitt in Bolwell Street. Don't think anyone stayed still for long in those days. Rick.

McDitzy Report 12 Jul 2004 19:20

Thanks for looking Rick..... I wish my ancestors were rich and stayed in one place!!! LOL Chloe

Rick Report 12 Jul 2004 19:24

Lucette, There are over 40 CDs with at very least a couple of 100 pages on each. Each page holds about 50 names. Some roads (let alone areas) are split over several CDs, so yes it's a slog !! But I guess if you really put your mind to it and did a couple of hours here and there you would get through it in the end. The quality varies throughout - it's not confined to areas. Sometimes you can't read it because it's too faint, sometimes because there are huge black marks over the page. Some pages are water-damaged, others fire-damaged and others just missing. Rick.

Rick Report 12 Jul 2004 19:25

Irene, Sorry, no Bishry's in Selby Street. Rick.

Michaela Report 14 Jul 2004 14:06

Thanks for looking Rick, Michaela
