Hi Susie, yes that could well be my Martha Jackson,now I need to find out what happened between 1891 and 1901,Thanks very much.I'm not sure whether I have asked this question before .Would there be any record on vri. of a William Thompson born approx 1831 father also William Thompson(occ.sail maker).William had a pawnbroker's shop in Liverpool. on 1881 census he is living in southport.it says born Liverpool,the only William Thompson,pawnbroker in Liverpool on 1851 census says born Shropshire,he died before 1891 census. Hi Susie, can you find on 1891 census Martha Jackson on 1881 census she was 33 born Halton,cheshire still living in Halton with aunt esther percival,can find no record of her ever marrying and she does not appear on 1901 census,,thanks in advance. John

Thanks Susie Interesting about the St Clement ones - difficult to tell if they are children of the same couple when you don't have mother's maiden name and they are not on census with them. There are also transcription errors on the VRI as I have a couple of those baptisms from parish records as different years.
