Hoping to find Edward & Mary Gilbert, and son Edward 5, maybe another son George (<1yr). Don't have ages for the parents as yet... Did you get my email the other week re Phillips/Paris? Many thanks once again, Richard

Hi Lynda, Do you think you could look up Henry David Morgan born 1847 st. Lukes (Charterhouse, finsbury). Father Thomas, Mother Mary. Address on the birth certificate is 5, Old Street. Hoping to found out if parents where Welsh. You did a look up for me on the 1861 without success. Thanks very much Maxine

Hi again Lynda! Could you possibly also check 26 Duke Street, St Giles for Thomas & Mary Ann Glasby (could be there in 1851 &/or 1861). Any Glasby's in the names index in that part of London would also be of interest. Many thanx, Richard

Hi Lynda! Mary Ann Glasby (63) definitely looks like mine! If any of the others are cordwainers/boot-closers/cobblers, I'll have them as well! Thomas was MA's hubby, he was a boot-closer. Maybe he'd died by '61? Maybe he left some sons around? Richard

Lysianne Report 20 Apr 2004 12:34

Dear Lynda Please would you be able to look for a Henry (middle name William) Matthews, aged 2 or 3, and a mother, Frances. I'd be very grateful if you would be able to look in the index, as I suspect they are in the Old Kent Road area, but if you need an address, please could you look in the Workhouse, Princes Road, Lambeth. Many apologies, as I think I asked you about six weeks ago, but said Princes Street and so you couldn't find anything (used to live in Edinburgh, must have Princes Street on the brain!). It is a bit of a long shot, as I've had loads of references checked with the ONS, to no avail, and this one just says "Boy", but couldn't find a corresponding death, so am hoping it's the one, and he was named later... Many thanks in advance for your help Lysianne

Hi Lynda I have just seen that you now have a partial name index for the 1851 census. I don't know exactly where my ancestors were living in London, but thought I'd have a go and ask. If you would be so kind, I'm looking for : Alfred Wil(l)son who was born 1828 Wisbech, Cambs Mary Ann Homer born also 1828, Islington. Richard Homer her father born probably close to 1800, and I don't know where, although he might have been dead by then! Thanks so much Lisa
