Dear Lynda Thank you so much - I really appreciate it. My Henry Matthews has proved very pesky and hard to locate, but thanks to your help, this is a possible lead. With best wishes Lysianne

Hi Lynda, Would you look on the index for a William Green please. He was b. Beds and should be around 16. I'm trying to find out how soon he came to London. Thanks Diane

Hi Lynda - Sorry, but I think I may have emailed you rather than post to board - so please don't look this up twice! Could you please look up the following references on the 1851 census, the surnames are all 'Prince'. HO107/1491 (St John) - 407r & 540v & 663r. Thanks Kevin Prince.

Dear Lynda Sorry I know I am a bit behind the times here, but am hoping that you are still being kind enough to carry out 1851 census lookups. I am particularly interested in the fact that you have a name index for the St. George's East area. I would be so grateful if it would be possible for you to search for any families with the surname HEMS living in that area at the time. Thank you Elaine

Thanks for trying Lynda, I will try again in a few weeks time. I realised after I posted that I was looking at page 1 of this thread rather than 13 - duhh talk about a blonde moment!!

Hi Lynda, I've found one or two searches for you for your new name index (just to make sure it works !) Please could you see if the Penalber family is in it in Kensington ? I'm hoping to find Jose Maria (aka Joseph) aged about 50 with wife Caroline & kids. I'm also looking for Agnes Elizabeth Harris or Harriss with a young daughter Clara Alice in the same area. Finally (for now!!) there's John McArthur or Macarthur, possibly scottish, with a baby son Alexander in Pancras. Thanks ever so much, Rick.

Hi Lynda Thanks very much for looking. What a ghastly entry! How is one to interpret that birthplace?? (the crucial bit) I will have to get a look at it myself Regards Sean

Hi Lynda ! Here's another batch for a name index search - I must get some good luck for tomorrow ! John and Amelia Wingrove, both about 25, Kensington or Pancras. William Giles, 45 and wife Susan or Susannah, 40 in Kensington. George Truman, 18, possibly with father John in Kensington. As usual, thanks for your time and effort, Rick.

Hi Lynda I know this the thread for 1851 but I'd be interested too in 1861 please. The look up is for a John SPELZINI b 8 10 1840 St Andrews Holborn. I have no confirmed address for him but 1871 census records the area as Ely Rents, Hatton Garden, Saffron Hill London and later in the 1901 census found at Half Moon Court Holborn. Thank you once again for your time and trouble : ) Much happiness Debi

Hi Lynda I am trying to trace my Walker family. Joseph born 1836 and his father also Joseph. The only address I have is from the 1871 The Grove Battersea. I would actually be interested in any Joseph Walkers in the Battersea/Wandsworth area. Even anything on the 1861 would help. Thanks Teresa
