Hi Lynda, I am looking for HURREN (poss HUREN) and LOVELL in Holborn. In 1881 they were at 22 and 23 Union Buildings, Leather Lane, Holborn. The closest to 1871 I can get an address is 1879 when my Gt Grandfather was born at 18 Union Bldgs, Holborn (St Andrew Eastern sub district). There should be William Hurren, French Polisher, b Marylebone, aged 27, wife Sarah Hurren, b Shoreditch, aged 26 and children including Sarah, William, Amelia and Eliza all b Holborn. Also Sarah's mother Amelia Lovell aged about 53 and her husband William Lovell (but she may widowed). Thanks, Linda

No problem - thank you for looking. May I ask about two other families if you have time? There's four possible addresses I'm afraid. William and Mary Ann HUSSEY; in 1864 they lived at 13 Charles Street, Hampstead Road, St Pancras, by 1881 census they were at 190 Great Titchfield Street, Marylebone (about five households shared that house number). Their children may include Alice Maude 10, William Henry 8, Elizabeth Ann 6, Edmund J 2 and Albert J infant. Also Robert and Sarah CRONIN; in 1861 they were living at 42 Cirencester Place, Marylebone, by 1881 they had moved to 149 Great Titchfield Street, Marylebone (again several households shared this address). Children include Dorothy ?, Harry 12, Sydney 10, George 7, Annie 5, Alexander 3 and Charles 1. Thanks for your time - there's absolutely no rush! Linda

Thanks for all your help. The Cronin family are definitely my one. I know places of birth but does it give any of their occupations? The ages of Robert and Sarah are a bit out with the 1881 which says Robert 54 and Sarah 56 Funny about Great Titchfield Street - there was definitely a 149 and a 190 by 1881 - renumbering or housebuilding, I wonder? I think the Hussey family were probably 'somewhere' in Marylebone in 1871 as Elizabeth was born 1864 St Pancras and then Edmund 1869 in Marylebone. Perhaps I'll have to invest in some more birth certificates to get the address! In 1884 Sydney Cronin married Elizabeth Hussey, by the way - my Great Grandparents - aaah. Thank you again, Linda

This board moves fast - I wasn't away that long and this thread was halfway down page 2! Tailor Master fits and thanks for confirming the ages. Yes, I was only going on what's available on the LDS transcript for my 1881 census information and I've found enough errors on there to be very cautious with it. You've been a great help. I'll get back to you if I get any better addresses. Thank you, Linda

Could you please look to see if there is a Louise Humphyres born 1853 Finsbury on the 1871 census. She may possibly have married Alfred Stanley by then. He was born in Huddersfield but they travelled back and forth to London. I look forward to your reply. Thank you Gill

Thanks Lynda that would be great! I got the Fendick Rd camberwell from the Familysearch.org record for 1881. This shows 3 additional family members not there in 1901 and a different Wife. The 1891 family details would help me sort it out. Thanks a lot. No rush! Rick

Thanks a Million Lynda I think Rose must have died before 1901 otherwise it's great. I still can't think how to trace when Walter moved from Norwich. I guess I'll try to find him on the Norwich census. Thanks again Rick
