Hi Jane, I hope that you can help me. My grand-dad Joseph Henry Cain DOB 11/10/1897 Hampstead reg 7/12/1897. His fathers name Charles William Cain thats all I know about him. His mothers name Mary Ann Cain maiden name I believe is Bass 1875. On my grandads birth cert it says " When and where born" 2 Elm Cottages Elm Row Heath St. I dont know if he had any siblings. If you can help me with this it would be very much appreciated. Karen

Chapman was her maiden name and she married in 1909 to a Reginald Prowse, so I know she was still Chapman and still alive, but I cant find her either, Never mind thank you very much for looking much appreciated.

think that your best bet would be to have a look at Scotlands people for Andrew & Margarets marriage certificate, that should name his parents,

there are a few Andrew Crichtons in 1901 census, but without an area of Scotland i have no idea if any of them is your man:

Thank you so very much for looking and sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you. There was not a lot of information I had about him just Anna Elizabeth, perhaps she had died by 1901 and no I don't know about any children..
