Find Ancestors

Married Mary A (maiden name unknown). They had 4 children Catherine, Margaret, Thomas and Elizabeth all born in Caistor, Lincolnshire.

Any information about John, Mary's maiden name or how to find out origin of Irish imigrant, would be very much appreciated.

Easiest way to find Mary A.'s maiden name is to purchase the birth certificate of one of the children.

On the 1871 census it just states that John Kennedy was born 1828 in Ireland. Do you think his actual birth place maybe on Catherine's birth cert? If it just states Ireland - how do I begin to search - it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack!!

I can't seem to find John Kennedy on the 1861 census - can anyone help with that? However, by 1871 John was married to Mary A and living in Caistor, Lincolnshire. They had their first child Elizabeth in 1859.

I'm trying to find Catherine McKenna born 1831 approx .Catherine came to england with her husband Patrick and her son Thomas was born in Scotland . thomas was married to Mary Ann Henderson and lived in Elswick Newcastle upon tyne,thomas and MaryAnn had Maria Janeb1882 Catherine b1886, Elizabeth, Foster 1999, Margaret,MaryAnn. Catherine married someone called Obrien and had sonsFrank and john and daughter Mary.grandchildren Kathleen,Maureen Virginia. Any help would be wonderful.

on the 1871 census though he has a daughter 19 called Mary A but is widowed??

Are you sure you have it right he is married to a Mary A

I think that although it says he was born abt 1808, I think it is a transcription error, as to look at it and other numbers on this particular census he should be aged 43 not 63....!!!!

I just typed in various things into the search engine
Irish database, irish census, etc, and just searched various links... am at work now and so cant search my history to see what site i got that info from...
I did see on ancestry a john kennendy linked with Liverpool and Scotland,, but dunno if it relates to whom you are searching for..

You will find John Kennady (note spelling) on the 1861 census living in Grimsby with his wife Margaret and daughters Mary A and Elizabeth.
