Hello Sheila,
I havejust come across your post offering help Is there any chance you could help me. I have been searching for a sister that my mother had adopted . Her birth name was Patricia Ann Sheath, born 21st Aug 1937 in Southampton. I do have her birth certificate now and on it is our mothers name Mabel Sheath formerly Bushnell
My mother was widowed at the time. Myself and my 2 siblings who are still living would dearly love to meet Patricia and although I have searched for nearly a year now just do not know where to go from here. I assume her name was changed when adopted and do not think I am allowed to apply for an adoption certificate do you know if this is the case.
I would be grateful for any advice from you
kindest regards Doreen Skeggs (Watts) watts being my mothers name when she remarried after giving up Patricia.

Sorry there is limited info for Ireland.
