Hi Sheila
I'm back, I keep drawing a blank with several branches of my family. Wonder if you could help me again! I have a Fred Lacey who was born in 1872, Romsley. I think his parents were George (1848) and Hannah Lacey (1851). I have found a George Lacey in the 1861 census who was a servant along with a John Lacey, even if this is the right George I can find no trace of him before that. Would you mind using your expertise and seeing if you could find him?
Thankyou
Stella

Hi Shiela
I am trying to find out more about a Townsend family in case they tie in with mine.
This family in 1881 were William Townsend b 1841 Faringdon Berkshire, with wife Elizabeth and children William Emily Louisa Alfred Herbert and Frederick. Ages 38, 16, 13, 10, 6, 4, and 1, respectively. Would like any other info you can find on them. William the son might end up in the United States but not sure.
Thanks

Hi Sheila
I have been having problems with this William.
In 1871 Nov he married Elizabeth Waine but didn't give his father's name on the marriage certificate.
Think this could be Peter Houghton married to Esther.
In the 1871 census he is no longer living with his parents Elizabeth is still living with hers
I am trying to find out what happened to him.Ivy very kindly did a look up for me and found 2 one as a lodger born St Helens and 1 married to Ann who was 29. So am thinking did she die but he would have very quickly married Elizabeth.
Of course neither of these may be the same William as mine!?
Have to go out now till tonight
If you can help I would be gratefull
Many thanks

Elizabeth

There are loads of William Houghtons registered for Prescot
The only one I can find married to Ann is

WILLIAM HOUGHTON/ANN CHORLEY

There are also many Ann Houghton deaths registered for Prescot

The nearest are
b. 1846 died 1870
b. 1848 died 1886
b. 1840 died 1894
b. 1846 died 1896
do you want me to investigate any of these?

I found their marriage- have you got that info/certificate?
That would give you parents names and occupations, then you could probably find some census information.
