Hi Mary... Thanks for looking for Alfred Abbott! I'm sure I have what is his marriage in 1904 to an Esther Bird in Nottingham, I will send for the cert to see if it is him.
If not I suppose he must have emigrated or perhaps working in the services.
Thanks again! K

Mary Report 17 Apr 2008 12:01

What was his address on his marriage cert???

Hi Mary
Thanks for the offer.

It's a bit of a long shot but I'm trying to find my Great-Grandfather Thomas Jones on the 1861/71 census. His age on his marriage certificate puts his birth year at c.1856 and his father as Benjamin Jones, oil refiner.

Are you able to search on a Thomas living with a Benjamin with that occupation please? Thomas married in Kensington 1885 and his children were born in West Ham but he isn't with them on the 1891 census. He was a ship's fireman.

hi mary. re. annie anderson.she was my mums nan and i remember my mum saying she was irish. i have her marraige cert (feb 1899) which has her father john as deceased. i was hoping to find where they came from .i think it could be dublin but i`m not sure. they had a family business ,tms.anderson & sons confectionary manufacturers but i have been unable to trace anything about this other than a letterhead (undated) which says monkstown. thanks for trying. regards. Gill.

Mary Report 11 Apr 2008 23:35

Hi Gillian
Sorry no luck with the Annie Anderson lookup.
Checking on 1901 I see that Julia and Thomas were both born in Ireland.
Do you know when they came to England??
Possible that they were not in England for earlier censuses.
Where was Annie born??
