Hi Mary
Re Kirby family
Have just received Edith Ellens birth cert
Parents Joseph Kirby Chimney sweep Mother Jane Rebecca Kirby(nee White)
Edith Ellen was born 6/1/1896 parents living at 91 Woodchester st Paddington sub district Saint Mary registered 11/2/1886
So I was right in assuming that she was only 15 when she got married
If you can find any info on the family I would be most grateful Regards Chris

Hi Mary
Deleted my reply(sent mess to explain).
The Sarah i found on Findmypast had parents Walter Parker b. 1855 and Mary b. 1857ish. living in Hornsey St Islington. Please can i ask you to look for them on 1891 census to see if they have daughter Florence as know she was Sarahs sister. (was not on 1881). Still trying to work out Edward Fletchers b cert! so will be back to ask you another favour!
Kind regards
Dorothy.

Hi Mary,

Sorry to bother you again but doing a search at http://www.1901censusonline.com/ I was able to find that there was John R Fletcher living in Clun, Salop in 1901 - does he not come up on ancestry searching.

I would very much like to know, if it is not too much trouble, about the rest of the family as I think this may be who I am looking for,

Cheers

Ivor

Hi Mary could you please look up a death for me. Its a fairly recent one, but I'm not sure of the area. Teresa Weston 16.12.99
Thank you

Mary

Mary Report 26 Jan 2008 18:16

Hello Ivor
Had a look at the 1901 census and the parents shown for John R Fletcher are Charles and Charlotte,so it would seem that is not the correct family.
It is also more than likely that the birth I found in Clun is not your chap.
Back to square 1.Sorry

Hi Mary
Re Kirby family
Iv'e just been taking a closer look at the record you sent me and I think they must have made some mistakes along the way, tell me what you think.
Firstly Jane is age 27 in 1881 census & age 25 in 1891 census plus marriage to Joseph is 1889,yet she had children and was married in 1881census.
The death record is 1886,yet I know that she was still alive when daughter Edith married Robert Tanner in 1911.
Do you think they are different people?
It must be the same ones in the censuses as the childrens names and ages match
What do you think?
Best Regards Chris.

Mary Report 26 Jan 2008 23:10

Hi Chris
If you read my reply again you will see that Jane Kirby(1st wife ) died 1886 and Joseph remarried in 1889 to Jane Rebecca White.
Also born in two different places.Ist Jane born Hammersmith,2nd Jane born Paddington.

Very confusing having 2 wives called Jane!!!

Regards
Mary

Hi Mary

Mary Report 27 Jan 2008 22:47

Hi Chris
The only way to find details on a death cert is to buy it from GRO.
The name of his wife will only be shown if she registered the death.

What was the full reference including the District??

Mary Report 27 Jan 2008 23:19

Sorry I have not been able to find John Lloyd on 1901 census.
Would he have been married in 1901???
