Hi my name is Jennifer Hawkswell and I'm trying to find out a little more about my great grandfather William Walton Blackett. My original enquiry was about which regiment he served with during WW1 in Palestine, but yesterday I found out he was also a member of the freemasons! Which came as quite a surprise! My Nan - nee Margaret Joyce Blackett (Williams daughter) said that unfortunately his mason uniform was passed onto her cousin - Leonard Wrightson. I would be very interested to get in contact with Leonard as the whole family history thing is very fascinating and I would love to know more. If anyone knows Leonard, or knows how I might find out anymore about the freemasons I would love to know! I think that Leonard's wife is called Freda. We know that William attended a masonic temple on Clifton Road, Birkenhead. Thanks Jennifer. |
