Sunday 29 December 2013

Welcome to Day 4 of Start Your Family Tree Week!

Today’s tip

Search our records to see who else you can add to your tree. Our birth, marriage and death records and census records 1841-1911 are a logical place to start. It's so exciting to find your ancestors in the 1911 census as you'll see their handwriting!

Today’s competition

Today we’re giving you the chance to win a Free Family Tree Chart courtesy of MyHistory. MyHistory provide a custom service whereby you can have your tree printed, fill in a blank chart by hand or export your tree to a PDF chart. For further information on MyHistory visit: http://www.my-history.co.uk/.

To enter this competition you simply need to email your answer to the following question to [email protected] with ‘Day 4’ in the subject line:

“When was General Civil Registration of Births, Marriages and Deaths introduced in England and Wales?”

Have fun finding your family!

P.S. The competition closes at midnight on Sunday 5 January 2014, and the prize winner will be contacted by email by Friday 10 January. Good luck!
