Hi Mike
I am sure they are the right ones youhave found only difference is Thomas date I have original death cert for Sarahs Husband 2nd dec 1823.
I think the 1903 one is a son. An Uncle of mine Mentioned years ago there was another Thomas. The age 12 would be about right. he mentioned it happened while at school.
The last one on your list, am I right in thinking this one was stillborn stbn, the address was correct. When Grandad died, he lived in Gray St. I did find Sarahs birth after all 7a 172 A/M.J 1864. Thomas Snr was born A/M/J 1863, so the age was right on marriage.
I had an Uncle Tom as well, he was brother to the first two. Then all the others of the same name in Worcestershire. Thanks so much Mike, its made my day, although sad to find. It has cleared it all up now.
Bye marian

Hi Mike
Thanks for the list of Winnetts that you sent. I see that one of them lived in Flint St. If you remember you gave an address at 15 Flint St, for my husbands family of Shaw. Just shows how close it turns out to be with each family. A further one I recognised Horace of Middle St. Correct me if I am wrong is that off Bosworth St.

I also have another favour to ask,
Marriage if possible,
For Joan Radley her Birth date A/M/J 1918 7a 689 Lincoln, To Eric Richard Fuller I think the marriage would have been in Leicester.Have been unable to find again, no further detail. Bye Marian

MaryfromItaly Report 29 Apr 2008 14:40

Thanks, Maggie - I'm still trying to establish who my William North married. I think Elizabeth Biddle was his second wife.

On the 1841 census I have William North (c 1780), Elizabeth North (c 1796) and their children William Wood North (c 1831) and Gregory John North (c 1834) living in Church Gate, Rothley.

Class: HO107; Piece 595; Book: 17; Folio: 7; Page: 6

In 1851, the family are at Crop Green, Rothley. Elizabeth is said to be born in Mountsorrel South. She seems to match Elizabeth Biddle, bap. Mountsorrel, 14/6/1796, parents William Biddle and Alice Gregory, married Rothley, 8/2/1791.

Class: HO107; Piece: 2087; Folio: 357; Page: 18

This appears to be the marriage of the William and Elizabeth from the 1841 and 1851 censuses:

William North, widower OTP and Elizabeth Biddle, spinster of South Mountsorrel, married Rothley, 18/2/1829.

If you think there's a connection with your friend's tree, you're welcome to send me a PM.

Aagghh, Cross Green - how stupid. Thanks, Mike.

I can bribe you a couple of pints NOT to vote for me on the other site if you like :-) I don't really have the time, but having been nominated I didn't really feel I could refuse.

As far as the North-Wood marriage goes, I don't know the Church, I'm afraid. There's only a submitted entry in the IGI, and this is the information you gave me ages ago:

William North.~ Elizabeth WOOD.
Loughborough.
1812. BY LICENCE.

William was a Baptist, which may be the reason for the licence.

I'll take a rain check on the voting then....lol

The Marriage is on the Leicestershire Index Marriages Disc 1801. ~ 1837.
with same details as you have posted

So hopefully it was in a C of E Church
theres only four of then in Loughborough at that time .....

Hello Mike
Just thought I would let you know Samuel Sanby's death cert turned up today. Poor thing died of Gangraena Senilis - not pleasant.

He died in Scotgate, Saint John's, Stamford in the counties of Lincoln, Rutland and Northhampton. I know this is out of your area but I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the help you have given me with my Samuel.
