Greeting’s again. ……… Caroline.

Thank you for updating me on the outcome of your Samuel Sanby,,,,,
It’s not often I get to know the end results to my searches
Oh dear !! ….. How very Sad to think it ended like that
after a health life on the farm.
So Samuel's finial resting place could well be in Stamford then ?
Which is a very pleasant Country Town to visit.

IF Lincoln was nearer to me then I could have saved you the price of that certificate but then sometimes it’s the only way but an lest I did save you other certificates…….

If I can help you again just ask.

Thank you Mike, you have indeed saved me a lot of expense with your searches for me and I am very grateful.

Just as a footnote I looked up Gangraena Senilis and it can be caused by over indulgence of the wealthy!! So he may have lived on a farm but obviously over did it!!

That's excellent, Mike, thanks very much for your hard work.

I shall have to research them further, but it doesn't sound as though that William North and Elizabeth Wood are mine; William's age is 10 years out, and he was a carrier and farmer, not a bricklayer. It's useful to be able to eliminate that marriage, though.

The Fletcher-Tugby marriage is definitely mine; that's a big help. Nice to have confirmation that Jugby was a mistranscription, too.

Thanks again,
Mary

Mary,

Altho my friend is a "junior" when it comes to family history, someone else in the family has done a bit of work on the Biddles. Had it in my head that your Elizabeth was from Rothley - none of Sheila's are - think she said some of hers hail from Stamford amongst other places - let me know if you want more info. Sheila doesn't do email, but I could get a look at her hard copy next time I see her if you wish.

Hi Mike.
Yet another request. I have just been doing a search on the index for Death of,
Arthur. C. Capenhurst/Capenenhurst of Leicester.
I found him in 1962 Aged 54.
The certificate No was the same Number he had, when he married Alice Brookes in O/N/D 1936.
I thought this unusual. Any ideas please Marian

MaryfromItaly Report 1 May 2008 14:23

Thanks, Maggie - I don't know much about the Biddles yet, but so far they're all in the Rothley/Mountsorrel area. If I find any elsewhere, I'll let you know.

Two different Volume numbers…….

MARRIAGE. :~ 7A. 567.

DEATH. :~ 3A. 567.

Due to Change of district numbering
Although the Book number happens to be the same 567.
Just a coincidence……

I see that they had a second go at getting it right for Arthur’s Death.
One under the Name Capenhurst. And another Caperhurst.

Remember if an error is made then they have to make another one out
By Law...... They can not cross things out.

Mike
I did type a message to you a short time ago do not know what is happening. I have been looking to see if you received, does not appear to have gone on the board.

Thankyou for the info again on Capenhurst.
I think maybe the disrepancy was also due to him using a variation on the name. On his birth it was Capenenhurst which is still used by some relatives.

Just a thought Mike, did you manage to find anything on Joan Hadfield and Eric Richard Fuller`

Greeting’s again …..Marian…

Was it to do with why one of your threads on Records Office board.
Which seemed to have gone walkies ?

The reason I believe was that with the details you gave it could be possible that there could be living relatives belonging to these people. And could have contravened the polices of this site
Therefore it was deleted by the site….

I’m still looking for the Fuller Marriage but to date not found it.

Mike Thank you very much indeed for all your time spent on helping me.
My family seemed stay in close communtiy of the village life at that time in Lecis except for my 3xG grandfather Fredrick Bennett (Martha's son from her first marriage to William) left home at a young age & ended up in Birmingham perhaps he did not get on with Edward who knows.
I wonder what William died of so young, he was my 4xGrandfather. Martha soon married again !!
Is it possible to have a copy of the documention as previously offered.
once again my many thanks to you Mike.
kind regards Wendy

Mike
I have spoken to Eric Fuller`daughter again.
I found a date that I could possibly work on again. As he had seven children I asked her who the eldest one was.
This gave me a better Idea, and Guess What.
I found marriage Eric.R and Joan A/M/J 1935. I searched first 1937/40. then went back further.
He had two surnames on the index, apparently he used the oher one sometimes.
But both names on that occasion
Look no further Mike ,one less now.
Thanks for your help Bye marian

Hi Mike

I am looking for a marriage for a Thomas Noon bc 1815.. somewhere in the Leicester area. In 1841 he and his wife Mary Ann bc 1816 (nee Smith) are in the Belgrave Gate area as shoemakers . I have them on all census till their deaths in 1886 and 1890. The other areas were Market Harborour and St Margaret . I have gone thru the parish register film for Belgrave Gate with no luck and have just ordered the birth cert of daughter Eliza b1840 Market Harborour.

I would really love some advice on where I should look next.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Karen of Brisbane.

Greeting’s & Welcome Jane……

Here is the Ref No’s you require to order the Marriage certificate
Of your Relatives…….

October ~ November ~ December Quarter 1945.

John N. Lewis. ~ Mavis M. Banks.
LEICESTER DISTRICT.
Cert. No. 7 A. 1773.

They check out via both surnames but I see that for Mavis’s Indexed ref No’s
The G.R.O. have missed the 1st. 1 so giving it as 7 A 773.

You seem to think it was conducted at the Registrar’s Office ?
Therefore I’ll not be able to see this register entry at the Records Office as they only hold records of events which were conducted in Parish Churches

So… if you require to see the details of this event then I’m afraid then you’ll have to order the certificate via the G.R.O. Site.

But if I can help you further then please ask....
