Wondering if the first name has been entered correctly on the birth registers because there are no instances of the name phailja on Ancestry or Google.

Carolina,

Not sure if this helps, but this is on Ancestry for the British Phone Books.

Address: 69 Northgate Vill
Exchange: Pontefract
City/Town: Pontefract
Directory Title: Leeds May
Publication Year: 1964-1970

Hi Carolina

Are there any relatives that could confirm that this pregnancy story is true ? did she have and brothers or sisters, or the poss Father, at the moment all you have is her word and an poss registration.
Did she say what age the baby died at, and your 100% sure there is no reg for this ?

Carolina,

Let us know how it goes. We are all very interested.

Have you tried to contact the register office where the birth was registered to see if they can tell you more?

I wonder if this is a fictional story - not a fictional birth !

JackieinEssex Report 7 Apr 2008 21:25

Have you tried looking to see if anything is in a local paper around that time? As it appears to be a strange story I feel sure it would have been reported in the papers.

Victoria

Victoria Report 7 Apr 2008 21:14

Carolina,

I think you need to go to the library to see what you can find from the local papers around that date/year. It is amazing what is published so you may gleam something from that. If not, the Police as already suggested.

Good Luck

True, but if you were using the identity of a deceased child, you wouldn't need to register a non-existent birth, would you?

Alistair

Alistair Report 7 Apr 2008 19:43

There is a well known scam which features finding the identity of a child which has died, and setting up a false identity in that name, in order to facilitate a benefits fraud.
