I have a 4x grandfather Michael Rabbitt who, as listed on his army discharge papers was born 1825 in the parish of Killimore Daly in the town of Loughrea.

I have found a baptism record for a Michael Rabbit (1825) in the parish of Abbeyknockmoy in the town of Loughrea.

Killimore Daly & Abbeyknockmoy are relatively close on the maps I've found and it seems as though the juristiction of parishes changed/merged over time.

Would I be clutching at straws to think the baptism record is my man?

Any info on parishes etc. would be of great help!

he dates are too early to look up on register in GRO, but found these on IRISH FAMILY HISTORY SITE.

I would say that the first one is yours and some if not all the rest are rellies
Peter Father of one sponsor to another Honor Rabbit Sponsor to one then Honor Clancey 1828 sponsor to another could she have married in between times?.
