n for the overseas people

Sarah ................ you don't know how often I've wished that I'd talked to my grandparents or my parents and got information from them. Mnd you, my dad was the last survivor and he died in 1970! I wasn't that interested .... and they were not interested in tlaking about things either. My grandad would never talk about what he did or where he served in WW1.

As an example ............ I didn't even know my grandmother's maiden name when I started all this in 2003.

as for the brain cells ......... I'm missing quite a few of those as well! :))))))

I also saw this...

"Thank you I've traced my family back to 1813 with little or no effort.
Unfortunately no rich relatives among them."

...it took me a good 5 minutes to stop chortleing about that.

I even thought it was being tongue-in-cheek, at first. But no, not a hint of irony. Tut, tut.

Still, it was nowhere near as amusing as that "find famous ancestors" button, over on Ancestry. That gets me every time... ;-)

time for a nudge methinks

The closest I come to a skeleton is my great aunt (who I didn't know about!) who had at least 5 children, and was never married.

I know what you mean! I fancy a highwayman or an actress or maybe even a wig maker popping out of the proverbial cupboard!
