Chrissie2394 Report 29 May 2009 07:20

Hi Mike,

Could you please look up the marriage of Charles Jacques c1819 Warwickshire and Martha Brown c1819 Hinkley who were married at Higham on the Hill on 20/4/1843. I would like to know names of both fathers and witnesses please.

I have found 9 children and have baptism details for the first 6 from familysearch but cannot find the other 3. They are George c1857, Susannah c1860 and Elizabeth c1861. All children showing as born Higham on the Hill on the census.

Thank you so much for all the help you are giving us on GR it really is appreciated.

I did say I could not visit the records office till mid July
But will do my best using my Discs

F.A.O. Chrissie………..

For the best results to your inquiries I do need to see the original images at the Records Office.

But I’ve had a whiz round my Discs

St: Catherine Parish Church. BURBAGE.
Charles. Son of George & Martha Jacques.. Bapt. ….16th. March.
Notes in margin ABODE. = Three Pots Burbage.

This is an area of the southern part of Burbage
the Road is between Rugby Road & Wolvey Road.

This in turn is right on the Border of Warwickshire & Leicestershire.
Three Pots is the birth place given on the Census returns 1851. ~ 81.

HIGHAM St: Peter’s Parish

Parish Burial Register. No’ 752.

Charles Jacques.
Abode. …Higham.
21st. November.
Aged. 72.

Regarding Martha seeing the surname was a very popular one = Brown
This will take a bit longer to solve
But at the moment I’m tracking one. …….not 100% sure to post details at this moment.

Hello Mike !!!
Lincolnshire lass remember me ?
My best wishes to you.

MaryfromItaly Report 25 Jul 2009 22:29

Thanks very much, Mike. Which disc did you find that on? His name doesn't seem to be in any of the ones Father Christmas kindly sent me :-)

I don't have a disc for post-1837 marriages, though, which is what I normally use his site for.

Hi Mike,

........ On April 24, I put in a request, but it must have slipped thru the cracks, but would still appreciate any info...........

I would like some info on the following if possible...

William Henry Newby bc 1846, Leicester . I have him age 5, on the 1851 census with his grandparents John and Mary Newby at Blaby. John is a school master.
I see there is a entry on Ancesry births for a William Henry Newby b 1846, but would like to know his parents , if possible ...

Many tks for your time ......
