Good morning Folks.

Hope you are all enjoying the weather - or not- depending on which part of the World you are in.

Happy June everyone

Very grey & cloudy today & what a wind blowing in off the sea, takes your breath away.

Hope it gets better in a few weeks as we have a week off for our Wedding anniversary - 18 years this year

Next year we will have been together 25 years.

Arthur - i am sure its only play fighting - they dont really try to harm each other do they?

Sue - just wondered how Tara is doing

Anne and Sylvia thanks for your kind thoughts.

Visited Hospital again on Saturday. Saw the same doctor who told me that the antibiotics he prescribed were not to address the lump - now thought to be a vein leaking - but to address any infection. Well it failed in that respect.

Now on a course of a different antibiotic - not penicillin based. Leg still sore and blistered, but guess I need to complete the course.

I bought a new bed for the cats - they have outgrown two. Currently they are enjoying mutual grooming. Just hope this is not the prelude to the murderous fights they can indulge in.

hello everyone

Arthur ............ sorry to hear about your leg problem. Reminds me of the erysipelas outbreak I had last year, courtesy of a "friendly" mosquito!!

I do hope the hospital can sort out the problem for you.

I'm glad we don't have a cat :-D ............ I like my sleep now that I'm retired.

Hi Arthur - Welcome back - was feeling very lonely.

Sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly after your holiday.

Shadow wakes me around 02:30 most mornings - sometimes he lets me go back to sleep for a couple of hours if I am lucky. Its Ok when i am on an early shift - but when we are off for a few days it can be very annoying.

I expect the cats were pleased to get home again.

Hope the hospital sort out your leg problem. take care

I have been missing recently as I have been on a holiday in Armenia and Georgia. A group of friends went to see the flowers in the mountains and to enjoy the different cultures.

Before the holiday I had to spend time making sure all my plants would survive my absence. Since my return I have had to spend a lot of time visiting the doctors.

Unrelated to the holiday, I suddenly developed a 'pustule' on my right leg. This happened after surgery hours and I called 111 - my first experience of the out of hours service. I was prescribed a strong antibiotic and an antibiotic cream.

4 days later the purple spot on my leg had grown so I visited my local surgery. Told to complete the course of antibiotics. Next morning in addition to the spot, I ihad very sore blistering - reminded me of an erysipelas attack I had some years ago. Phoned the surgery at 0800 and had an appointment at 0820. Told to complete the course of antibiotics and come back Monday!

I now plan to call 111 again and visit the hospital as it is still very sore and the foot is also swollen. Do not want to wait until Tuesday before getting a diagnosis.

Not had any time to look at my famiyt tree. Think I need to visit the record office in Suffolk - a day out of very necessary gardening. May do if the weather forecast is bad for several days.

My cats enjoyed the cattery. The owner has nicknamed them the 'Kitten cats'. He knows they are nearly 4 years old, but he says they behave just like kittens and really enjoy their stay. they also entertain him and visitors.

Just wish they did not wake me so early these bright sunny mornings - I am really an evening person.

Hi Sue
Lovely to hear from you again - How wonderful i would love a dog - it would get us out & about - but not with our "Shadow"

i think we would go to the dogs trust - trouble is they charge so much money to adopt a dog these days

I love the name too - they are very sweet little dogs - are you a fan of "Gone with the Wind" using the name Tara.

I have to admit Arthur I have not seen this series - i may check to see if there is a copy to download & have a look

Normally i would pick this up - but wasn't sure when i read the write up

Lovely to see people back on the Thread

Happy Easter everyone

Really enjoying the BBC programme "The Secret History of My Family".

It essentially traces the descendants of two families - one very poor and one rich. The rich family had someone who felt it was their duty to visit the poor and see what they could do to help them in their daily lives.

The programme then traces the families through approx 200 years to the present day.

The first programme was particularly fascinating tracing the descendants of three pickpocketing sisters. Two were sent to Australia at different times - one to Tasmania and one to Sydney. The descendants from Tasmania had made enormous strides and had certainly made better progress than the descendants of the sister from Sydney. This was put down to the fact that Tasmania had developed from convict stock and there was no class system.
The descendants of the third sister who remained in London were ordinary people living ordinary lives.
The person who chronicled the lives of the sisters in London did not end up well.

Hi Everyone

Enjoying some cooler weather today so busy washing and that dreaded Ironing.

We also had a bit of rain overnight, that was nice for a change as everything is so dry now.

Hubby and I have got ourselves a little dog,she was a rescue Dog form what we call K9 Rescue.she is 7 years old shitsue/ maltease,I hope I have spelt that correct, she is so lovely and great with the Grt Granddaughter,we don't think she was treated very well be cause she is quite nervous and jumpy,we have had her 6 months now and she is getting better and I am sure she likes living with us ,she has made herself really at home .

Must admit is is nice to have a pet again,we called her Tara.

Afraid that is all the news I have today,I hope you are all well.
