woo hoo Joy! Thanks, have been waiting for that :) not that it will tell me a great deal more probably, but interesting just the same to see whether there are any more in the family than appear in 1911 ( my gt grandfather was already over here before either of them )

I am just itching to get my hands on this - it could plug a lot of gaps in my research. But what's the betting the site crashes instantly under the weight of all our curious gazes?!

Again, you are most welcome :-)

Only a few hours to go now. How lucky we are to be able to see soon, absolutely free, the 1901 as well as the 1911 Irish census.

Found 2 GG Grandfathers who were not around in 1911 alive and well in 1901 so now have just a 10 yr search window for deaths

Thistledown Report 3 Jun 2010 19:02

Afraid so Sarah, i think that it has crashed for a while with the volume of people trying to get on.
I was browseing it last night but there were some rellies on 1911 that i could not find on 1901.
Will have another look later hopefully though.

I've noticed a few blips on the spelling of place names, which somewhere in the FAQ's they say they'll get cleaned up but it makes it rather slow going when the entire town/village is spelt wrong eg Raboo instead of Raloo.
On the plus side I've narrowed a couple of dates and found a few 'vanished' people.
