Thank you for that information and I have made a record of this information and note that mannings or mannings sealy were large plantations in the Parishes of St Thomas and St Andrews which are to the north of the island and my grandfather was baptized in the southern part of the island. Am my looking at a different list to you as I cannot see mannings in St George.
I also note that a plantation owner by the name of Phillips which is my grandfathers surname which his family may have taken from a landowner- is shown at the most northern tip in the parish of st. lucy. This may be co-incidental though.

Is there any way on line that I can locate where in particular the mannings plantation was or is? I would like to determine the area specifically where my grandfather lived.

Ruth...I did see a plantation map on the site but couldnt do anything to focus/enlarge it...was thinking same as you..!
Let me see if I can find anything to help further.
